Red light of battery flashes .... why ?

Hi guys

I have an Acer Aspire 5 with an internal battery (which CAN'T be extracted)

Associated with this battery there's a light which report the state

The weird thing is that the light is red and flashes

This is strange because the battery is completely charged

Windows 10 indeed show 100 % battery full

So i have a battery fully charged that flashes

What happening ?

I had this with an older laptop, too. The status LED began to behave as if it's low charged when it was completely full. It stopped blinking once the charge dropped below 100%. I suppose it was kind of integer overflow (if you cut 100 into two digits, 00 remains ). Or warning about overcharge. I didn't worry about it, just removed the power cord.

I'm not worried indeed

But since LED signals sometimes mean something, i was curious about that something

Thanks for the info thomas, useful as usual

Ah so it's one of the fixed battery packs instead of the more modern unlock tab and it slides out/off.

Hi Anubis

I mean there's no way to remove it from the internal of the notebook

At least i don't see a slot on the back of the computer

Chip, it appears you have to remove the back panel of the notebook to gain access to the fixed batter inside.

Hi jmmijo

You are right, i guess the same, but it's not my intention to put hands on a new notebook

This is NOT a serious problem, just a light which flashes without reason

Indeed, Chip, just make sure that the indicator light doesn't have any kind of Radioactive Symbol next to it
