It takes ~30 minutes to get Win 10 into a very usable shape. Simplewall, O&O, Classic Start Menu and few under-the-hood tweaks and you're done - no need for LTSC.

If you don't want your installation reverted to default settings after every major "feature update" there is.
Not to mention the shitty adds and Candy Crush that suddenly snuck onto my system without me having a say about it.

I ran 10 Pro Edition like 5 years ago, had everything configured, removed crap like Cortana, IE, Edge and the lot of it and what happened after an intrusive feature update came along ?
I had to start all over again setting it up, in other words; I fdisked Windows partition and reinstalled 7 again.

The only 10 Edition that doesn't do that, screw up your default programs, settings and so on is: Ta-daaa, LTSC.
It only gets security updates, not any of those crappy feature updates that'll make your day real bad.

Every time I update (and I don't do it often btw) I just re-run O&O or WPD and that's all there is to it. I've never seen an ad, a rogue app, or even Metro itself for that matter.

I've also never experienced this "installation reverted to default" stuff people like to talk about. Maybe it was like that 5 years ago, but that is a long, long time and a lot has changed.

Sure, vanilla Win 10 is one giant spyware (just like Android) and it has awful interface, which older users like us rightfully hate (and new users are quite fond of actually). But, again, it does not take much time nor knowledge to alleviate this.

If LTSC was easily available/cheap then sure, it's a good option, but looking at their "Licensing" page my head starts to hurt immediately.

What dreadnought said. If you don't like Windows updating process potential side effects, just grab a custom version with the latest updates slipstreamed at the ISO level. AFAIK, LTSC is not the equivalent of "Pro" or even "Enterprise" version of Windows, just some watered down version for rigid-minded IT managers (I thought the same before making my mind and choosing the custom version offered by scarface & harkaz as featured on Maher's Digital World forum).

As far as I'm concerned Enterprise LTSC is superior in every way.
I wouldn't waste my time with any other edition.

Anyway, back to topic, this got a little sidetracked.

It has been rebranded LTSB apparently. Not that its new name had made it significantly worthier .

What a joke, having to install all those hacks just to make the OS usable. I don't understand why you guys put yourselves through the pain.

macOS is perfectly usable straight out of the box.

I think some of us are masohochists, we love the challenge of seeing what the heck Microsoft has done and find ways to prevent said telemetry or whatever needs to be tweaked.

Maybe it's a mini-game, like playing OS Roulette
