The History of EAB

Someone should write a history of EAB. I mean it. maybe a collaboration. PM me for ideas and discussion.

The only problem is that old threads get deleted, so the history is sort of erased and some great posts are lost!

Is there any way to archive posts after a period of time into a MIME digest of some sort? Something that can be viewed for future reference ?

Well, Cody and Jim, I know many threads, posts and Off Topic gems were murdered. When i was a mod, i killed many a "useless" post or thread in zeal. Others killed great pics.
Anyway, maybe we can harvest enought info to do a series...sort of, a serial. You know, Twist's infamous and now legendary exile from Godflesh's forum [ July 2001]...the introduction of Amigaboy...the collapse of my Liberace conspiracy tc etc.

I'd certainly like to catch up on some stories. For instance, I know nothing about twists exile?

Quick....someone..play the theme to "Exodus" for ol' Bloodwych here!!
Looooong ago, Blood, there was a pretty lousy forum, poorly managed by someone we here all do not like...

...Whatsoever theye sayeth, hast Godflesh hold back, and give no succor. The pleasante of alle folk, The Twiysting Ghoste, hath enreaged the wrathe of the demon, who was slayn by our fiersome knight.

In this tome, Bloodwych, is written the stroy of how Twist saved us and led us here. Although many of us were already here, it was his brave stand against megalomania that really got this forum gelled, notwithstanding the kind RCK to provide Amiga and retrogame lovers a place of shelter....

...From the lande of the Franks, a hovell of grande proportions and means sprungeth...

Haha, good one Fred!

Yes, many old threads are here, the ones that got murdered are mainly the offtopic ones ...

My introductory message is somewhere over there... and the lovely days of the Godflesh Wars can be revived thanks to the Search Function!

Good Idea, RCK. I believe it may be too early now to mention or remember bad memories of certain peple who were here. I want first to let everyone know, it was just over a year ago the legendary Twist Incident occured,

Not unlike what American historians and politicians do to make special interest groups feel good.

This is a great idea! And a good opportunity to remind you of one thing. This is my second life on eab. I was on eab, on the very first weeks but KICKED due to inactivity!

I guess I spent too much time on Warlock's board

Don't forget your favourite thread, Fred:

"My fave thread was when I announced Twist was growing an afro to store his Amiga disks"

A classic I'm sure.

Gone but not forgotten.

I think dpainter grew the afro. I bet his school cap is still in there somewhere.

And perhaps an Amiga 500 or two.

Oh Hi Dpainter. That's twice I've been caught typing about someone while they're surfing this forum. :hoo

This thread could be part of the EAB history section of "Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer":

How did Akira, MosMensk, CodyJarrett, Malc-ALE etc. become moderators...
