The Merregnon Project

Music lover, this news is for you !

I was checking my musician composer favorite links (for the upcoming abîme.net mod jukebox), and I found that the first CD from the Merregnon project was born !

If you want to buy this fantastic CD, or listen to mp3 samples, just go to the Official Merregnon website

ps: I have just ordered it

Quote:
What exactly is Merregnon?
Merregnon is a world - wide project in which renowned composers from the computer games and the demo - music scene were invited to accompany characters from an original fantasy story. They were asked to describe the adventures and the surroundings of the characters through music in orchestral style. The result of their work has been put together on an exclusive CD.

Merregnon - the composers.
Allister Brimble, Fabian Del Priore, Markus Holler, Jason "Jase" Chong, Jonne "Purple Motion" Valtonen, Olof "Blaizer" Gustafsson, Gustaf "Lizardking" Grefberg, Jogeir Liljedahl and Rudolf Stember could be engaged for this soundtrack. Chris Hülsbeck provided an exclusive bonus track of his musical setting for the movie "Light at the end of the tunnel".

In general
Well - known composers from the field of demo- and gamemusic have put together a CD with their work on Merregnon. It's a soundtrack full of tension and variety. Created by the music itself - 74 minutes of orchestral tunes and a 24 - pages booklet with lovingly painted pictures are telling of all tragic, romantic and adventurous moments from an original fantasy story.

21 titles altogether - for a soundtrack that is going to set the new standard, far from such of a usual compilation: A CD revealing the impressive qualities of all artists who joined forces for this unique work.

Looks a great CD. Jester, Jogeir and Blaizer (underated in my estimation) were excellent musicians. Just might buy this.

Oh yeah I forgot LK. Doh!

Hopefully you'll be more informative on your mod site, unlike the hundreds of web sites that are drivel.

Mods that all Amiga retrogamers must not miss !

Excellent choice. I'll post a list of a 1000 I like

Kidding.

The mods I like have stuck in my mind for one reason or another.

Space Journey, for example, from the RSI Megademo because it was from the quiz part and I can remember the samples when you got one right or wrong.

Jester is amazing. I need to hunt more mods by him.

By the way, my MP3 player will be back in a week (took them eons to repair it!!), and I'm already preparing a load of nice C64 music to go in there I plan to load the whole 'Album of the Year' SIDs... Though to fit'em all, I need to use 32kbps compression.

Won't be long before I get my Jukebox

I've just got mine with one dedicated postcard from Moby !

The tunes from Lizardking (Gustaf Grefberg) are really fantastic (always this little nordic touch).

The LK ones are superb, but the Olaf 'Blaizer' Gustafsson ones are the best on there.

My mate took a copy and has order three more ex-scene musicians CDs. Sadly one is Ali Brimble, but he's order the Turrican one. Looks good.

Yeeeeeessss

The vocals of "burning lascest" & "secrecy of deep affection" are fabulous (track5 / Blaiser & track8 / Lizardking)

I have a little preference for the second track from Lizard (track 12), the guitar & the chords are excellent. (I think it's because they remind me the abord project of Starbreeze : Sorcery...

In fact, all we can say is that the CD is excellent, that's all
