Mediator 1200SX w/voodoo 3 installproblem

Hi, my setup is:

Amiga 1200
Blizzard 1230-IV w/32mb fast
Mediator 1200SX
Voodoo 3 3000 PCI
16GB hd
AmigaOS3.9

The problem is, I've been trying to install my Mediator and Voodoo card all day, but I can't get it working properly. I do everything by the book (updated MMCD drivers, updated Mediator drivers, installed Picasso96 (latest), renamed CyberVision64/3D to Voodoo, copied voodoo.card to picasso.library etc etc, you get the picture).

But when I get to the point where I have to "activate" or "mount" the Voodoo by doubleclicking the DEVS:Monitors/Voodoo, the Amiga freezes and I have to reboot. The Amiga freezes before getting into AmigaOS and I get a red screen eventually, after a couple of reboots. I have to remove the CONFIG jumper to get the machine up and running again, but then the Voodoo-card isn't detected (pciinfo), so I have to have the CONFIG set to closed on the Mediator card.

Can ANYONE help?

Duh, I simply had to activate MMU. Thanks to Elbox being very fast and giving a very proffesional answer, although I'm a beginner with little or no experience with MMU and FPU and whatever these terms mean. I only know they are good to have on the accelerator boards, but I don't know why.

So how did you activate it? Setpatch? The CPU command?

I have a Merlin card that always crashes P96 on startup on my 060 A2000.. I'm pretty sure the MMU is already online after the setpatch command.

just put the MMU file in the ENVARC:Mediator-drawer, and edit the MMU-file to YES instead of NO with EDITPAD or something. It's incredibly simple really.

Aah, it's a Mediator specific MMU switch. Ok, thanks anyway.. I guess my Merlin is shot..
