Jesus on E's MP3

I came across a link I found about a year ago. It's the tune of the Jesus on E's demo, don't know if it's a remix, I suppose, as it's 25MB:

25MB?!?!?! Good lord!

I can't imagine what could make that damn thing so big (unless they used a rare tool I have from years ago inside joke). I am downloading this thing because I have to hear what is supposed to justify 25 megs of my storage media!

I dont think its a remix, the original demo lasted about 30 minutes, so this is OK.

They have effected the tune, though making each channel share a bit of the other (this is called wide somethng, i forgot :P), and perhaps something else?

Some effects processors allow you to get a wider stereo field and still others have Spatial stereo separation, which can be quite nice. The mp3 sounds pretty damn good, albeit a bit long. But for a 128k encode, it sounds amazing.

That's the name, spatial separation... Just works like the SRS effect a few stereos have... putting a bit of a channel in the otehr one and viceversa...

I never liked Jesus on E's soundtrack that much, really... So I deleetd this thing after downloading :P

When is that from?

I remember stuff like that being new in about '91.

I listened to some of it, but have deleted it -

It's from between 91 and 93, no more. I'd say it's a 91/92 production.

The mania they had with samples back then shows a lot in this tune

J on Ease in November 1992

I got the Jesus on E's-demo on a copyparty in November 1992. I remember this date so correct because I also copied some games that appeared that very month: Nigel Mansell, WWF2, Mc Donaldsland, Putty to name but a few.

A friend of mine has once ripped the songs from this demo. If you play them in Octamed or Soundtracker they do not sound 'right'. It is like a filter is missing and some samples sound less clear than in the demo. Very strange.

Also, I find the Jesus on E's-demo very unstable on my original Amiga 500. Once you press the right mouse-button (or was it the left?) you can see some hexadecimal programcode. Once you return to the flashing screens, they turn to be out of sync with the music. The effect gets worse and worse until the notorious Guru Meditation appears.
