There is already a Wings of death remake in development. But it seems to be on hold in because of the breach of a copyright.

I wrote an email here but I had no reply. So I wrote to Heinz Rudolf, but his reply was what I had expected : nobody knows who owns the rights of this game.

Marc DOES own the rights to WoD. If he didnt reply then either he's not checking that email address anymore, or the answer is no.

He (his team) already made a PC version, Gameboy version and Java version. Non were released, not too sure why.

What a pity ! The first level was nearly completed.

I imagine that without the right owner's "green light", I'm gonna have to burry what I did...

... or I could keep on developping the first level and releasing it with original credits.

EDIT : Btw, this a list of technical specs of the remake :

- Doubled resolution (576x400) with Kreed's Super Eagle filter.
- Tiled background.
- Transparency.
- Sprites rotation
- Original Jochen Hippel wonderful Amiga soundtracks.
- There is a problem with digital voices, rips are crappy. :S

PS : A video of the demo already exists, but because I want to protect my bandwidth, I can't post the link here.

A new video featuring a new weapon called Thunderblades is available in the Download section.

Thunderblades will replace Thunderballs in the remake.

Hey Aligarion,

Your website looks cool

Just checked out the Thunderblades .avi but when I tried the Tech Demo .avi I get the following:

The requested URL /blazing_wings/videos/blazing_wings_demo1.avi was not found on this server.

Just a little post to say that the first level is nearly completed. Only the boss is still missing.

On a slightly related note, Lethal Xcess remake info is available at...
http://www.edv-rudolf.de/lethal-xces...s/projects.htm

It's is/was worked on by the original game's coder, but...

Quote:
The source code is pretty fat and causes the assembler to crash from time to time. This throws us back every time it happens.
Maybe someone can give him a few pointers on which assembler(s) to use.
