WinUAE launching but no screen output
So iv'e been using winUAE just fine, went to use it today and it appears to run, vista desktop icons refresh, but no WinUAE.
It's running in the processes panel, but that's it. I've tried several different versions, all with the same problem. Tried turning off Aero, & my second monitor, no joy. Anyone have any ideas? I've updated my graphics driver, tweaked some services, can't think what else might be causing the problem? I'm tearing what's left of my hair out here! |

Not much useful information..
Wait long enough (at least 10 mins), kill it and attach winuaebootlog.txt. |

Try a system restore to before you installed the graphics driver and see if that cures it.

I understand this would be hard to fix without a bootlog, i'd just hoped someone had experienced something similar is all. |

Try "winuae.exe -log". Do you get any output at all? Does console window open?

Remove all non-important USB devices/gamepads and try again. Some directinput device driver is hanging during game controller enumeration.

Ok, rebooted with no USB devices at all. Still no joy.
Remembered that I installed my girlfriends Sony Ericsson android phone on the laptop-so uninstalled that before reboot. I noticed under USB controllers a 'sony ericsson seehcri Control Device' Uninstalled that as well. Rebooted, the bloody thing re-installed the SE USB controller. I wonder if this is the culprit? I'll try safemode. Ok my googleFU has found at that the SE seehcri control device takes over all your USB hubs, and pointing them to their own controller. That's just rude. One guy has posted problems with this causing VMware to fail. I may have to roll back, does this sound like it could be the culprit Toni? Last edited by TCD; 11 February 2011 at 16:33. @Toni
Thanks for the helping in tracking this one down, it wasn't the Sony Ericsson USB drivers (although they were still worth getting rid of). It was my Aiptek graphics driver. I've disabled it until I need to use it. Now X3 Reunion runs as well. ta, Khph. |
