Optimum Swiv control config?

Yeah, what's the best control-config for Swiv? Me and a mate want's to play it on the same keyboard, Player 1= (WASD for movement and V for fire) , Player 2 = (Num 8546 for movement and Del for fire).

We've spent about 40 minutes trying to configure the controls and are now quite, quite frustrated. The game according to manual uses keyboard for player 1 and joystick for player 2... Is it me, or can't this damn game use TWO JOYSTICKS??

Those of you who have combined the in-game config with the emu-config in the optimum way, please, tell me how you did it. Or even better, give me a save-state and config-file with the whole shebang.

In WinUAE go to game & IO ports before you start WinUAE properly, go down to the Mouse/Joystick Ports and select the keypad layout A for port 0 and keyboard layout C for port 1, if they are wrong swap them with the swap button

btw. Yes it can use two joysticks, I've done it before on a real Amiga back in the early 90's

Edit: It can't be done with WinUAE, no matter what you try, even in the 1.6 beta version I'm afraid you'll probably have to talk to Toni to see if there's a reason why it doesn't work and see if he can come up with a solution.

Rabbit80: Send me your Amiga 500 then. My mate has mentioned that he's getting itchy to get a real one, and play the crap out of this and several other old favourites.

DemonHellraiser: Holy shit!! 0_0 Are you sure that the game is supposed to be able to use two joysticks tho? Absolutely certain? The 90's was around 15 years ago, so it's easy to forget or mix some things up, with similar games.

Yep, the game works fine with two joysticks. Have you configured the controls? Press Help in the title screen.

Just checked it and like Retro said you need to press 'Help' (page down in WinUAE) and select joystick for player two. If you use the 'Input' window in WinUAE you can choose any keys you like for joystick 1 and 2

I can only use one controller and trying to configure the other port to use the keyboard won't work for some strange reason. Maybe it's because I'm using the trainer version?

As for it working all those years ago, I'm 100% sure 'cause I remember it well 'cause we had a lot of fun blitzing all those enemies using 1 helicopter and one jeep + boat. I *do remember, I'm not that decrepit yet

Just checked with the Company trained version and it works fine. For some strange reason port 0 jumps back to raw mouse though, so make sure you switch it back once in the title screen.

Retro, Druid: Hmm? Is that so? So like I suspected at first, as combo of keyboad-config and in-game config is needed, ey? Well, I'll give it a try, and see if I can't get it to work.

You only need to set the second player to joystick port one in the game. No weird combo magic needed this time
