The most professional was the backplate of the house, all the rest is forgettable. It looked better way back. Not me was who timbered this in it's current form, just changed my stock A1200 for having stronger PSU and internal drive bays. It served me well about 16 years ago, and it operates reliably. Strange and funny, but still have my Samsung HDD with the same partitions, I just have to check if I have the good old sys on a CD somewhere...

Tears in my eyes, as I'm not expected to get it back, although I even searched it through adverts... sadly I really can't believe that my first Amiga 500 and C64 will be mine anymore....
Doesnt look much attractive, pal

I've taken it completely apart and cleaned the motherboard with a soft brush. I then showered the case and keyboard and treated them with bblonde peroxide cream (£1.52 at morrisons) and the results are shown below. The keyboard needs another application of peroxide as some of the keys, especially A,D,H and the space bar have a bit of yellow streaking still. It only had about 3 hours in the sun and the results are fantastic. The keyboard to the left is my 'old' 600 (I've had it for a couple of months) and the one on the right is the dirty one I bought last week.

The case looks much better than the photo suggests.

I've put the motherboard and floppy drive back into the lower half of the case and powered it up and ................. it works!

Just need to get the keyboard finished and reinstalled and I'll post some before and after pictures then. It's raining right now so I'm not too optimistic about getting it done tomorrow and I'm at work sat and sun night but I'll hopefully be done by wednesday.

yet another toy..

Easycap USB framegrabber, works well with NTSC, not sure about PAL yet. For anybody thinking this might be a really cheap (~10$US) scan-doubler, the vid stream is has about a 1.5-2 second lag. Works ok for recording, though. ( [ Show youtube player ] )

SUPER PRO ZIP STIK
RETROZONE USB Adapter

For use with WinUAE on my PC.

What a difference!!! Much better than the X-Box 360 controller I was using which just wasn't cutting it. It's great to use an original joystick with precise control. WinUAE recognized it perfectly.

SUPER PRO ZIP STIK:

RETROZONE USB Adapter:

Final product

Happy gaming for me

oh well, the Sega Saturn I bought for 10 euros (as untested) seems to be working! However looked inside its guts and found lots of nasty stuff like pubic hair, crumbs. Needs vacuum cleaning badly. Moreover it came with a Bug...not a Sega Saturn character, but a real domestic/carpet beetle dwelling inside, who was eventually evicted. I guess that rusty spots on metal plates covering motherboard is a result of its acidic poops.

That's what I call "the Dark Side of The Retrograming"!

Saturn? That sounds more like Uranus

Jokes aside, nice catch - the Saturn is a great machine with some great games.

Steve: LOL, sure it is. To me it's a brilliant 2D graphics machine (sort of SuperNES on steroids) with awesome RPGs, shmups, Street Fighter like games and such, while it's underpowered and messy when it comes to 3D games. Not a big deal since almost all mid-90s 3D games aged badly. It would be sort of Dreamcast's elder brother if Sega waited a bit and implemented better 3D chips. They decided to push it to stores instead.

Personally I do not like the CF cards and similar. Had too much problems with them and I want a real HD in em.

So I raided some old laptops for a bunch of 40 and 60 gig HDs. They look sooo nice in their little bag. Like a money case from a movie or something. Perfect fit.

If you are interested in selling any (cheap I mean), I can be interested in getting one of those. PM if you are.

You could probably get one cheaper at a local dealer/second hand then paying the shipping costs from Sweden to Spain, hehe. I'll hang on to them for a while in any case. Got more amigas to adopt from careless parents. Think of the children!
