how do I jump of the ladder? have tried all sorts of keys... oh and I am using WinUAE

just in the beginning when you enter the sewer or something like that, it's a big red arrow showing that you can enter / climb down there.. but i can't get off the ladder

Ahh, gotcha

Same shit happened to me first time I played!. I think you are not supposed to get in there!

Instead of going there, go the the left of the screen at the beginning of the game.

You cannot go anywhere from down there in the well !
Instead you have to go left first and enter the big tree. Inside you will find 2 keys:
One for the well, where you will then come up again, and one for the castle, which is far on the right.

I thought so, but I never managed to get out of there after I got the two needed keys :P

Well, it's hard like everything in Beast I, but not that hard !
First get the super-shot from the goblin, then the first key and then take the powerup and kill the big monster.
Then take the second key and get some small powerups.
Afterwards you should know exactly at which time and which place monsters appear ( like you have to know in almost every shoot'em up or jump'n run game - the typical 'know it by heart' games

)
Then with some training you should be able to make it out of the underground

I was thinking about playing Beast I again a lot this summer and maybe finish it after lots of playing, but I was too lazy until now....
