On an unrelated note; All the WHDLoads seem to work fine for me except for Jaguar XJ220. I'm getting a "DOS Error #205 (object not found) on reading 'Disk.1'" but the file is there, everything looks fine.
Code:
JaguarXJ220Image.info JaguarXJ220Image.slave Manual Manual.info ReadMe ReadMe.info data data/Disk.1 data/Disk.2 data/disk.3 |

Can't reproduce that error.
Perhaps something went wrong extracting the archive ? |

Tried several times with no luck. Do these MD5 sums match for anyone else? (using JaguarXJ220_v1.5_Image_1200.lha).

Enverex, the easiest way is to install the game as real files with the latest installer.

Hi Retroplay,
I always use RomVault to keep up with the excellent WHDLoad collection. One of the things I always do after obtaining the .dat file manually is the following instruction: Code:
Look for the following line in the header of the dat file: <clrmamepro/> Change this to: <clrmamepro forcepacking="unzip"/> |

Hi, Retroplay!
I've tried downloading some games from your ftp using Filezilla but it says there are more than one connections from my IP address. Is there any way around this or should I just download from the Mega upload link I found. I'm just afraid that those files are not the newest. Thanks in advance! |

Heya apekop123,
Welcome to EAB Your issue is to do with using a "generic" account to access files on the EAB File Server; see the 1st post for more details. ...but also, even with a proper account (in which you need 50 posts on EAB in order to register), you cannot browse / download at the same time. |

I was having troubles playing Future Wars. First it was ok but loading it the second time it would get stuck just showing a white mouse pointer on a black background. I was then told on the Retropie forum that FutureWars_v4.3-B_1570 was corrupt and I should use an older version called FutureWars_v4.0_1570. The newer version only had Spanish and Italian added. I tested it and the older version does work. Maybe you can consider removing the 4.3 version in favour of 4.0. Thanks again!

There's nothing wrong with 4.3-B on real hardware or WinUAE.
I've just tested it in WinUAE 4.1.0 & ClassicWB (WHDLoad 18.4), it started right up 10 times in a row. Did you extract the lha the proper way in Workbench to a proper Amiga filesystem ? Do you quit the game using WHDLoad quit key or do just close emulation ? |

I used the lha file directly from the ftp with no unpacking. It was with Amiberry on a Raspberry Pi. There is also a reference to the problem on this site: http://mantis.whdload.de/view.php?id=3306
I closed the emulation with the quit key in the Amiberry menu. |

Future Wars also works fine for me. I think the problem is the WHDLoader program they are using in the Amiberry emulator. From what i've read it's written in AMOS ! They are also blaming a couple of other games for being bogus because they don't load using their booter, I think Jaguar XJ220 was one (which also works fine). I think their booter needs updating rather than blaming the WHDLoad installs and trying to get them changed, IMO.

Tbh honest, I'm not too keen on those "select a zip/lha/lzx whatever click 'n play" launchers.
The only way to make sure a game is running as intended is to either run it from Workbench or a selfbooting hdf with file attributes intact. |
