If you don't want to use HDToolBox to prep the drive manually, then you must set the virtual SCSI drive as ID6 with the SCSI2SD Utility before connecting it to the A3000.

Thank you both for your support. I am happy to report that the issue was solved. Due to the fact that in the case of a SCSI2SD V5 it worked out of the box (which comes without manual & software) when I implemented the SCSI2SD in a GVP Impact Series II I thought this would be also the case for the Amiga 3000. This is not the case: As you suggested, it is necessary to configure it via a Micro USB cable (not included) and downloaded software which runs on different platforms (in my case Windows). With this it was easy: Configure the HDD as ID6 and set the size to 4GB - done. With this I was able to install Workbench 2.05 in the first run. I am sorry for being such a fool. But one question remains for me - is there any chance to come back into the Kickstart Selction Menu to choose Kickstart 1.3 or Kickstart 2.X from FDD or HDD?

You can get to the kickstart selection from a cold boot (right after pushing the power button) by holding down both mouse buttons.
