Looking forward to this one, ties in nicely with the beginning of 2015 F1 season

One question, what are differences of "compo version" compared to standard WHD install?

Any tipps about the WinUAE settings I should use for the ADF version?
I guess the standard A500 setup won't be fast enough for the hacked exe.

Hi all. Please note, the links to all the downloads have been moved to the EAB Zone. Graham will update the links soon but in the meantime do check The Zone! for this material. I have also uploaded The Manual; which is essential to unlock the ADF version of the Compo game.

The 25fps hack has been tested as working at full frame rate and speed on an 030, 040 and 060 setup. If you have an A1200 with fast ram, press ALT+D to reduce the detail level and restore some speed and smoothness. This 25fps hack will struggle on a basic A1200 without fast ram, even with Detail set to Low with ALT+D. Of course A500/A600 users will also find the hack now makes the game impossible to play, so if players require a special version for A500/A600 machines, I'm sure I can come up with an 8fps solution for them. PM me or let me know if there are any issues.

I wonder if it would be cheating if I would just use your savestates from back then. Is there any difference to the current competition?

No, you cannot use the savestates from the old Lemon compo in this competition, as there are a few changes from the old hack to the new one. As mentioned on Lemon vote thread, no savestates use is allowed, especially to cut out the warmup lap.

If anyone has any questions or comments about the Compo Edition downloads, please PM or write to me on the Lemon side. Thanks.

OK, I'm fine with that and I hope you know that I didn't intent upon cutting the warmup lap by asking that question.
.
I just hope to find nearly as much time as I did in 2013. It should hopefully be worth more than my usual one point score, but I can't promise anything (even a score at all). Damned work as a freelancer doesn't give me any security for the following three or four weeks.

btw: Sorry, I didn't post this message on Lemonamiga, but EAB is a lot easier to handle on a smartphone if you're not at home than lemonamiga.com.

By the way, does this hack essentially make it impossible to play on real Amigas? As a lot of people still use actual Amigas for this compo we can't stop them entering.

The hacked .EXE file was provided so fans with real Amigas can copy this to a BACKUP copy of the real disk 2. As long as they have the manual, as with the ADFS, they should be fine.

Graham, you can host my files where ever you like. But the dropbox links on lemon are not permanent after this round.

Wow, so quiet this round. If anyone is struggling on an A500 setup with this beast of a hack, then of course I think it would be fair if you used the original 8fps game instead, with the same rules.

I dont care if players use the hack or the original game, as long as we get some players soon.

I know that akabei will probably smash us with his amazing times but if the score board is based on the lowest result, I think those of the compo participants who hadn't submitted all four track times should receive some sort of a penalty time for each track they haven't played yet (eg. 2:00:000 = 120000 points). Otherwise the score board will look a bit funny (like it is looking now). It could also make other participants to enter the compo even if they don't want to or don't have time to play all 4 tracks.

That's usually the way we do it. I didn't actually notice that until I added akabei's new times this morning. So yes we'll get back to using that method you mentioned again.

It looks more like I'll smash my head on the desktop. I need to get in some kind of flow in F1GP and that only happens after ten or fifteen laps in a row. Unfortunately I won't have a lot of free time this weekend due to a football match on Saturday at 1pm and because "don't drink and drive" is a good advice for video games as well, I'm probably out of order for the rest of the weekend.
