using ipfs on a real amiga

I'm sure a similar thread has been started on eab at some point in the past, but does anyone know if ipf's can be spit back out to amiga disks yet or is that still a very large work in progress?

I'd also like to be able to this but AFAIK it can't be done yet.

You can use them in a WHDLoad install (On a real Amiga) that

asks for a file. It will use the .IPF file rather than a disk.

Anyhow, hopefully someone is working on this!

Same goes for Extended ADF's.

Cheers

Actually, its more that you can use the caps libraries with WHDload to generate WHDLOAD images, on a real amiga from IPF's.

But yes, still no real disk writing from IPF's.

The only way I know of is to use the Floppy Disk emulator, a bit of hardware that streams IPF files to an FPGA based emulator connected to the floppy disk interface.

Is that that new piece of hardware that was in the News section of EAB not long ago?

I guess it depends what the .ipf is?

If it is a AmigaDOS game or app like F/A-18 interceptor or Workbench, it should be able to be written to disk okay.
