C64 nut now on board

Howdy from Texas! I'm Bill and I'm 68 but still young at heart.

I miss my Commodore 64 and all the games I wrote. In fact I sold one to Compute! magazine. Thank the lord for emulations that I can keep it alive and play my fav games.

The emulations started when I built my Raspberry Pi with Retropie in a nifty NEC box back in Feb. I bought a micro SDcard loaded with 4500 games and 12 consoles including Nintendo, Super Nintendo, MAME, Sega Genesis and others.

I seem to have trouble manipulating the controller with multiple buttons so I thought about the C64 with the simple controls and the fun I had. I looked for an SDcard with the C64 and others and found the card with 100,000 games and 40 consoles. Yes, it is loaded with old consoles like the C64, Amiga, ZX Spectrum and others.

Now I needed the keyboard and mouse attached to the Pi to use and it doesn't handle them so well so I extracted the Commodore roms to my i5 PC and play on it.

Now I need an emulator and I found C64 forever. I tried it and it work so well with simple interface that I bought it. I have over 17,000 roms to choose from.

Then I discovered Amiga Forever and I got it. I remember long ago I wanted an Amiga but couldn't afford it. This software kicks.

And here I am! To learn more about the Amiga. By the way, I have 4,200+ roms for it.

I like the pie, but not for emulation. Its just too slow for anything other than 8-bit stuff. I'm sure lots of people will disagree!

What's your favorite games and such?

I'm here too just to learn about the Amiga, and it's a super place so far!

I was always an Atari / Nintendo guy until recently, and I decided to branch out!

The Pi works fine, just didn't like the buttons on the controller. I liked some of the Nintendo and Super Nintendo games though. I love playing Zelda and games similar to it.

My C64 favs are Equinox, Time Tunnel, Terminal City, Street Beat and Street Surfer to name a few. There'll be more as I discover them. I bought lots of floppies from a mail order software house when I had my C64.

Now the Amiga, wow, this is a blast. I only had it since yesterday when I bought the Amiga Forever software.

By the way, do you have a programmer's guide to amiga?

Oh yeah, the Atari 2600? What a blast.

Never mind, I found your link.

Brick The Wall. I made this game work by poking color changes. Red, Yellow, Blue and Black.

And White for the player movements on the wall.

It was put in Compute! Collection of 64/128 Games. It didn't sell enough for royalties. Drats.
