when running whdload games get kick40068.a1200 and kick40068.a4000 error

Using workbench 3.1 in Winuae with DH1: some games will not run comes up with cannot find 40068.A1200 and 40068A4000 in devs/kickstarts, they are in there from Amiga Forever.
This is all new to me just getting into retro Amiga scene any help would be appreciated.

Hello there ValHallamiga,

Welcome to EAB

...not really a WinUAE issue though; these error mean that you are missing the required KS ROMs / RTB files in "Devs/Kickstarts" when trying to run certain WHDLoad packages

See *some* useful information here.

ValHallamiga, the messages are because WHDLoad needs the Kickstart ROMs to run games, and of course they can't be provided as part of the WHDLoad package.

When I put together my WHDLoad install with these ROMs, I consulted the following list as I had Amiga Forever 2012: http://www.whdload.de/docs/en/need.html

And from there made a little MS-DOS batch file so that I could create the required files necessary for WHDLoad to work (see attached). Find out what version of Amiga Forever you have and make the necessary changes, if needed.

Hope this helps, too.

I assume these still need the key in the Kickstart directory to be usefull? Or
does the key need to be somewhere else and if so where? Maybe just keep it
where it belongs?

Thanks!

Yes, you'll need the rom.key in the folder along with the Kickstarts.
