Hi tygre,

I've been doing more testing today, with Eagleplayer in the path and outside the path, and everything is working great today. I cannot replicate the problem I had before at all, which is very annoying as it happened every time before!

The only change seems to be that the ratings server is once more alive - or equally I may have changed something since then that has removed the issue, as I am still in the process of setting the machine up again.

My apologies for wasting your time, and my congratulations on a really nice bit of software!

No need for apologies! Thank you for testing AmiModRadio and reporting problems! I'm happy that it works well now for you!

Moving now to the next bug
Cheers!

Do you still have this behavior? With both the CLI (AmiModRadio in a Shell) and the MUI (AmiModRadio MUI in a Shell or from its icon) version?

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this problem, even with your config.

Thanks!

This is now working for me, for the first time (I was getting gurus). Thanks!

Is there a way for AmiModRadio to play the next .mod automatically, rather than repeating the currently playing .mod?

Thanks again.

Hi XRayNorm!

Very happy that it is working for you now

Yes, AmiModRadio should automatically download and play another module after the current one... If the current one keep playing, it could come from the config. of your player or from the module itself (some module are programmed to repeat infinitely).

Please let me know!
Cheers!

Hi tygre,

I have hit another issue I'm afraid, although hopefully an easy one for you! I'm encountering issues where T: has other files in it - this may be unique to using Eagleplayer, but it tries to play the other files in the directory and well - it doesn't always go so well!

Would it be possible to create an AmiModRadio subdirectory in T: to work out of? It would avoid this kind of thing happening.

Cheers,

Graham

works so far, with some waiting on starting playpack ir skipping tracks.

right at startup when i started playback with aminet there was an error:
"Error in _connect_player(), cannot find known ARexx port of a player"
then the program did some searching i assume and playpback started.

for the first time, using ModArchive works.
modules are stored in T: instead of modules folder (modules folder remains empty).
there are not really filenames, only single letters (for example D.mod, U.mod, H.mod).

modland works, but it needed several retries, some messages say:
"Error in _fetch_modules(), could not find adequate file after 10 retries"
afterwards playback starts finally.
modland also uses T: instead of modules folder for storing modules.
on modland there is very long waiting game when skiping module.
mouse cursor turns into waiting cursor and i can't operate amimodradio.
it seems to be frozen but after some time new module starts playing.

modules.pl also needs some tries, produces the longest log but works.
you'll only see the beginnging (a) and the end (c) of this log.
there is a middle (b) which i don't attach as i can only attach eight files.
so i skipped the midde piece as it is the least important one of the three.
this one also stores downloaded modules in T: instead of modules folder.

after switching back to aminet/mods mods from there are stored in T: also.
something overrides saved modules directory which is set to modules/.

and there are some icons damaged. also amimodradio icon looked this way.
i oversaved kaput icon with amimodradio.drawer1 from icons folder.

i attached some screenshots.

Sorry for the long delay before answering your post!

I cannot reproduce the problem where EaglePlayer plays other files in T:. It should not because AmiModRadio instructs it to play only the modules that AMR downloaded... Maybe a different config. of EaglePlayer? Could you please send me your Eagleplayer.Config?

Cheers!

Yes, this expected! The "error" message is probably not very useful but it means that AMR tried to connect through ARexx to a known player and could not, thus it will try to start one...

Yes, this is the normal behaviour of AMR: it stores modules in T: and only uses modules when the user wants to save a module. Also, ModArchive has this weird naming scheme where files are named by letters...

That is also normal: sometimes the modules archives contain files that AMR cannot recognise and does not want to send to a player, so it will skip these files and try another one...

Looks good to me!

Ah, I believe that this is a problem with the installation of the icon.library or the number of colours in your settings, no Retrofan's icons

Cheers!

Dear all!

I am happy to release a new version v0.9991 of AmiModRadio after these long months of silence!

You can take it from here, here, or here.

This new release includes bug fixes (#83 and #90 that should improve usability: it comes with more preferences to choose the modules and cache drawers as well as limit the size of the files to-be-downloaded. Thus, it improves playability (of modules) by avoiding downloading large archives with silly MP3 or MPEG files in them . It also fixes a couple of bugs and includes a full-fledge parsing for FTP LIST lines... Enjoy!

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here!

Cheers!

No in the screenshot is OS3.9 AFA OS (in the video there is also the execution of AmiModRadio)
[ Show youtube player ]

Tested and works well even on OS4, on AmiKitX it works but you have to fix something.

What should I fix in AmigaOs 4? Could you describe the bug(s) here, please?

Does one have to do anything special to eagleplayer other than simply unpack it and run it?

This latest build doesn't work for me nor has it ever in Amibian w / os 3.9. previous builds work on my real Amiga 1200, although only with the internal player.

I'll try some more testing on my real 1200 this evening.

Something to do with it not playing nice with bsdsocket.Library?
Previous builds work on my real Amiga 1200 when Miami is running as the TCP stack. With emulation there isn't a stack running, so perhaps the program looks for it and it isn't there?

- AmigaOS 4 -> Works well

- AmikitX -> There are some problems, if you save new skin automatically search for a new mod Amikit 8 No problem.
