I am ready to fire this up and try it out! I have numerous USB-mini b cables and power supplies here but I have read dire warnings about using non-certified components to power the V4SE.

Not wanting to blow it up, how do I know if the power supply and cable that I choose won't do any permanent damage?

Don't try it, I'm shipping out the power supply for this unit. Very sorry for the delay. I have a new case on order for you too since you had a minor issue. Says it will ship on March 19th which sucks. I wanted it to ship ASAP. I was going to ship case and power supply together but will send the power supply first so you can test system.

Maybe AmigaKit should comment about this issue. Seems that the 5040 has had limited availability. Does this version of the system have issues? The problems you have had are scary. My X5000 5020 has always worked flawlessly and I considered upgrading to the 5040 to have the best system but I’m not sure now. Not something I’m planning on rushing into.

Although that machine works flawlessly I know that if anything goes wrong with it I am screwed and out another $3000.00. As of now the 5020 sits in as new condition while I decide what to do with it. I am afraid to turn it on.

I have an open thread at Amigans.net that chronicles the entire months long process of the troubleshooting that I went through. Although that thread didn't go anywhere either, it may help keep someone else from being ripped off too.

Sad story Magic, my personal experience with various authorities leads me to conclusion that police may be reluctant to help you but tax office can be sometimes very helpful in such cases - not returning items is not only thievery but also tax avoidance (undeclared profit) - perhaps this is one of ways to apply some pressure on Amedia Computer.
