Hardfile problems

Hi There,

How do i have to enter the settings for a Hardfile, so i can use
HDToolbox to edit and partition it.

(ps.: A workshop in the magazine AmigaPLUS said to use the following settings : sectors - 0 , Heads - 0 , Reserved - 0....
But that doesn't work at all.....)

When i start hdtoolbox, it doesn't find any harddrive

I also have problems, to add a Amiga harddisk...
It is a RDB Partitioned, non formatted drive,


Can somebody please help me here.

Change HDToolbox' tooltypes to read Device=uaehf.device instead of Device=scsi.device.

If you've got OS3.9 you can add the tooltype ASKDEVICE so you get a list of valid device names.

Adding Amiga drives only work on Win2k or XP.

for the 2 question, i have to tell you that i have windows XP
i have admin rights. and i tried it without and also with ASPI drivers installed...

Well, then activate the log and look for messages.

First of all, i want to thank Thomas for his help, because it worked out just fine.

And for the unpartitioned Amiga Harddrive:

In the Harddrive Tab of winuae, i was unable to choose this Harddrive.
Then i used AmigaOS XL (Amithlon) to boot my pc.
Then, i used his HDToolbox to partition the drive into 3 partitions.
Back in Windows, suddenly this partitioned Amiga Hard Drive
appeared as "VirtDisk....."
And it works really fine when installing Workbench 3.1
