Quitting is so easy I've done it three times. Obvious credit to Mark Twain.

and 100% about the A600... i never use it the A1200, is the hard one, its gonna sound strange but i hope i am forced to keep it... it depends on what you guys offer for it, it was originally an old new stock Amiga Technologies A1200, but i found quite a few floppies wouldnt work due to Amiga Tech adapting a PC floppy drive (i started a thread about it)... hating imperfection, i bought a Commodore A1200 and swapped over the mainboard and floppy drive and then installed the kickstart 3.1 roms from the Amiga Tech A1200 mainboard... so if you were to collect it you would also get the machine i butchered, you could of course swap it all back I was thinking about £275 for the A1200s, Accelerator and Monitor, breaking it down £100 for the A1200 (i have seen much less spec (and stuff) and worse condition A1200s for more than that on eBay), £135 for the Accelerator (it comes with a spare ram module) and £40 for the monitor (which is in really good condition) maybe £275 is asking quite a bit, but i really don't want to let it go for less Last edited by Djay; 10 February 2012 at 14:49. |

I had got rid of quite a bit of my Amiga gear. Not as extensive as yours, and gave it away for free to a collector of retro consoles. Wish I had kept it now - do miss having the whiring noise on hdd start up and the privilege of an official hardware! The price you're saying is CHEAP - and you're right, on eBay you could fetch A LOT more!

Got rid of a number of my stuff just recently including 3 new machines and it's fairly horrible to have to do it. The trouble is, while you're glad to have these gorgeous machines, you have to justify having them and not using them- 3 spanking new machines just sitting there for me. I've got one main A1200 machine now and a couple of A1200 boards to satisyfy me and in a way it's actually a relief to have done this. If i lived in a mansion maybe and was rich, then i'd probably have an Amiga for every room, but until then i'll be happy this way
And the thing is, i'd also be perfectly happy using only emulation if i absolutely had to. It's quite scary though to let your machines go, but you do feel a little better once you do so. If things were more ideal then none of us would need to i suppose, but it's not the end of the world when we do. I would suggest you keep the A1200 though if you have any doubts at all |

Okay... after advice in posts (and advice privately), i have decided to keep the A1200...
seeing as the Amiga was the first computer i really understood how to use and really still enjoy mucking about with today, letting go of everything is a bit too much i have managed to re-organise everything, i suppose having an A600, A1200 and a monitor did take up too much space... (still have 2x PSX and 2 PS2 for sale, still need to work on the addiction, lol) and so the A600 and monitor are still for sale (see original post) sorry if this decision has let anyone down, but i am sure you know how i feel Last edited by Djay; 10 February 2012 at 15:20. |

That makes sense - even if you keep the A1200 in a box for a while you will be pleased you kept it.... good man!

Djay you certainly won't regret to have around your A1200. At least next time you feel compelled to use it it's right there. No shame about selling it either.
