Evil's Doom

Some time ago I tried to contact Titan Games and asked them about Evil's Doom http://hol.abime.net/search.php?find=Evil\'s%20Doom

The surprising thing is that they answered me and we had a couple of mail exchanges where I hinted the possibility of having it available on the net.
But they smartly avoided a direct answer, telling that they nearly completed the game but it was still too buggy to be released.

Now, what if one of the founders of aGTW tries to contact them again?
Maybe with some luck and some insistence we can obtain something.

Or may be we can open a petition and show them how much appreciation we could give for such a gift...

Evils Doom became a victim of software piracy. After betaversion were
sent to magazines right after this the first cracks appeared so
developers have decided to cancel EvilsDoom an left the Amiga.

the betaversion was finished except a serious bug that you cant
finish the game because the final enemy is immortal

The game is written in assembler and not graphic board compatible
also the serious bug with the final enemy makes no sense to release
this game.

Just tell him we have coders able to kill the bugs in the game,
and able to correct them ^^.

yeah, and players that would play it
btw if this has to be released using emulators as a good reason, well it's better to be known that it is badly playable on winuae due to the flicker issue. without that fixed, is almost only playable on real amigas.

I'd play it through emulation on WinUAe so, yes, if we can get the bugs to be corrected it is better.

I actually had it and played it back then. It had excellent AGA graphics but the music is what grabbed me the most.. It had amazing music!. One of the best RPG's on the Amiga.

I still have the disks for it here somewhere, i just hope they still work ?

Games that i thought were "truly" worth buying i would buy, so if this game had of been more readily available i would have gave the cracked version i had the flick and bought the original.

Argh i had an HDF of Evils doom that you could play in Winuae, worked fine..

I cant find this page now, it was found in a eastern Europe webpage.. I remember i couldnt understand the language...

This game is extremely good, hopefully it now can be fixed and enjoyed on the real thing ?!

ErikBauer: I am very interested in this, count me in if something has to be done!

The flickering was still a bug, i get through it by entering "dungeon" mode and then getting back to the carachter screen... it was playable this way (although abit irritating..) With space button I think.

Sadly the harddrive I had this on have died (wont show up in bios anymore)..

Surely someone must have this on their hd`s... They had many games on that page, all with their own uae config file..

i think i have still the hdf, is needed, and now i remember this walk-around thingh you mentioned, but it wasn't working much for me, as the dcreen reverted to it's messy state anytime some text appeared or when objects were switched. something like that. so i never did go past the village in the start of the game. a pity.

Please zone it if you can, would be interesting to see some of the more experienced coders look at this =) I also want to test it on the real thing again..

i cannot put it on the zone as it is bigger the maximum allowed (it's about 9Mb) if someone is interested in having it, please let me know: if some coders want to look at it, i'm more than happy to send it. also it is not in hdf format anymore, as i extracted it and put it on a dir to make it work.

Glad to see a lot of people interested here. Evil's Doom was surely one of the best Amiga games ever written (Totally agree about the sondtrack, never heard something that inspiring while playing an RPG: we are at the same level of Tristram music in DiabloII).

I'm also glad we have programmers able to de-bug it, but would'nt be nice to have the OK from Titan?
We coud post them a petition or something like that.

Floppy disk

I have Evil's Doom on my computer. I think I have both the disk version and the HDF version. I think it needs installing on a hard drive to run - it won't work from the floppies. I'm not sure where I got it from though & I can't remember if it worked either. Unfortunately as I've recently moved my computer is currently MIA so checking this will take some time I'm afraid.

Getting the updatet version from Titan would be the best, but this is somehow maybe more sketchy..But you should continue to mail them, maybe someone can get in touch with the old developers also ?

but a fix of the allready released version would be perfect, the music and art is both very atmospheric and beutiful!

If someone can split the archive (the hdf) and zone it maybe ?

Ok, I can try to E-Mail them again and ask if they can tell me how to contact the old programmers

@ the owners of the game, could you please check if there is something on how to contact the programmers?
