How to repair Power Computing floppy drive

Hi all,

My Power Computing floppy drive isn`t working.

This is the drive that can read AMIGA, and PC/MAC floppy disks with the proper software, which I have got.

I haven`t used it for a long time but now, no didsk I insert seems to register. Does it need cleaning somehow,and how do I do that?

you open the drive and replace with one for pc but modded

I use to have the same drive: it reads HD PC-world floppies, right?

I am sad to say your unit bit the bullet.

Check the little board inside the case: you'll see a very tiny square chip near the floppy cable. If the chip have a burn mark in it, goodbye!

You can make your own external unit using one of the Aminet schemes, but you'll never will be able to read HD floppies again.
