Are there any recommended settings for video or audio which makes the RTG version a bit smoother?

If you are not using real MIDI hardware (CAMD) then you should disable music (OGG) as the 68K CPU is too slow to decode digital music unfortunately.

There are other options you can play with that might help performance in the Exult dialog, including smooth movement and the FPS cap.


Try setting Timber Precaching to start up only in the config too.

config->value("config/audio/midi/precacheTimbers/onStartup",s,"no");


I have no idea what settings are best because I no longer have a real Amiga to test on.


Also don't forget to read the actual readme

Performance Considerations:

1) If you have a Blizzard/Apollo you should really be using BlizKick/RemApollo
to get most speed out of your Amiga.
2) Fast File System is actually not, use PFS3 instead.
3) Stick with v4.18 of AHI as the later versions without the 'FAST' modes are
slower.
4) OGG compressed audio is very demanding, MIDI will be much faster and sound
better.
5) Running in a window with an 8 bit screen mode will be very slow.

Yep no Amiga sadly, maybe one day I'll get another one but not interested in building a new machine using a 30 year old motherboard (too many issues).

This game require original Ultima 7 data from PC version?

Yes I grabbed the original PC game data from GOG (with the expansions). Sorry no idea why you are having trouble with Black Gate, works fine for me.

It's a actually a pretty good 68k port now, much better than my first attempt a few years ago which was just done to test my SDL AGA.

Sounds great if you have a real external MIDI device.

Yes with the RTG version only a few problems in Full Screen, after changing the setting in the options, the diagram after a while becomes black
