A590 question

I have a A500 with a vampire accelerator.
In the past i bought a A590 for my A500 with a 20MB SCSI HD.
The HDD is no use, but i would like to use the SCSI connector on the back, for my ZIP drive.
unfortunately, the HDD and the SCSI zip drive are not recognized.
They don't show up in HDTOOLBOX, just the ide of the vampire shows up.

Is there a possibility to make this work?

You can try to specify 2nd.scsi.device for hdtoolbox in the shell.

The A590 is a DMA controller, might cause problems with a 68k socket accelerator. If it hangs/corrupts transfers, try limiting the mask to Chip RAM.

Does the A590 show up in early startup under expansion board diagnostic?
It should have manufactor id 514 and product 3. If not, forget it.

The Vampire would also need to support other bus masters,
and it might also be a good idea to disable the internal memory of the A590, if any.

I've never managed to get the A590 working with anything on the 68k socket; the autoconfig isn't supported.

You can try then 'bind drivers' files instead; you'll find them on the forum. Put them in the 'expansions' folder.

Binddrivers needs working autoconfig too. If the manuf/product IDs are not available, then the expansion cannot be bound to its driver.
