which instruments could match this tune
Hi,
I'm remaking a game (Bagman) and the arcade version plays tunes using the AY-8912 chip. Here's a sample (MP3) ay_music.zip I'm not going to reverse engineer the music replayer, but I'm able to rebuild the music using protracker. What I'm missing is some instrument that would sound like that. thanks |

Only thing I hear is a short pulse (or square) osc for the melody, an oooooiej DWGS sound (you can probably re-do this with a Korg synth or a similar VST), and some filtered noise blips, which is probably a character walking around..

Square waves, white noise for the steps and either synthetic speech or formant filtering for the peculiar phrase.
It actually sounds very 6581 or SID chip ( C64 ) |
