September Quiz - Answers & Score Hey, thanks to all of you! With 52 people thats a pretty big couch for couch multiplayer. The items have shaken up the results a bit, we saw losing 1,5 points from red shells to gaining 2,5 points from mushrooms. the big high score table shows only the final results after applying the item effects, you have to look at the local table to see what impact your choices actually had. Now we first have the names of the games as text, then as images, and the scoretable comes at the end of this post. 1) Bomberman solved by: 96% other suggestions: Minesweeper 2) Worms Armageddon solved by: 92% other suggestions: Lemmings 3) Golden Eye solved by: 88% other suggestions: Duke Nukem, Medal of Honor 4) Micro Machines solved by: 92% other suggestions: - 5) Super Smash Bros solved by: 65% other suggestions: Lylat Wars, Populous 6) Power Stone 2 solved by: 55% other suggestions: - 7) Mario Party solved by: 78% other suggestions: Kirbys Adventure 8.) A tiny public domain game on the Amiga, not visible in the Amiga game databases like lemonamiga or hall of light. There's not even screenshots - I had to reconstruct the fragment you see here from the only existing low-res video clip. With all my hints, eight people managed to find it (congrats, double points!). But honestly - how did you find it?? Actually played it back in the day, or did you do some elaborate research? solved by: 16% other suggestions: The Flying Penis Circus! quiz image: answer image: direct link: https://i.imgur.com/5qGququ.png HIGH SCORE 01 - 25 points - mnc - Gerhard S. 01 - 25 points - pcx - Splunge 03 - 24 points - pop - Barbarian 04 - 24 points - mmx - J.R. 05 - 23 points - guf - Wizdom 06 - 23 points - rta - Wibblewozzer 07 - 23 points - vpf - cebix 08 - 22 points - eab - Nobby_UK 09 - 21 points - eab - darkwave 10 - 17.5 points - 4py - Scorplian190 11 - 17 points - rta - dearodie 12 - 17 points - gms - hellermarie 13 - 16.5 points - mmx - fedprod 14 - 16 points - m!g - Kong 15 - 16 points - ntl - Dogorilla 16 - 14.5 points - pop - Don Como 17 - 14 points - pcx - Aufklaerer 18 - 14 points - m!g - Red XIII 19 - 13 points - mnc - elementalMaster 20 - 13 points - 4py - Crimson Idol 21 - 12.5 points - mnc - HomiSite 25 - 12.5 points - hcg - windfisch 22 - 11.5 points - mnc - Lukulus 23 - 11.5 points - m!g - geohound 24 - 11.5 points - rta - Frump 26 - 11.5 points - mnc - Mitschel 27 - 11 points - pcx - besux 28 - 8.5 points - pop - Sascha 29 - 8.5 points - gpo - kataka 30 - 8.5 points - mnc - Yeboah17 31 - 8.5 points - vgz - Walti 32 - 8.5 points - guf - Yoshi 33 - 8.5 points - eab - haynor666 34 - 8.5 points - m!g - SonicFanNerd 35 - 8.5 points - vgz - LOX-TT 36 - 8.0 points - gms - Macabre 37 - 7.5 points - vpf - Senbei 38 - 7.5 points - pcx - Pascal Parvex 39 - 7.5 points - gpo - Jin-Roh 40 - 7.5 points - 4py - schockbock 41 - 6.5 points - hcg - snake 42 - 6.5 points - mmx - Shades 43 - 6.5 points - eab - lilalurl 44 - 6.5 points - mnc - Mangamaniac2171 45 - 6.5 points - pop - PUH 46 - 6.5 points - ntl - Scrummer 47 - 5.5 points - pcx - Karl Ranseier 48 - 5.0 points - mnc - millimil 49 - 4.0 points - 4py - Akabei 50 - 2.0 points - pop - Daiyama 51 - 2.0 points - dgo - gmpearl 52 - 1.0 points - mnc - Klees 4py = 4Players Forum eab = English Amiga Board dgo = Dialogoption Forum gpo = Gamepro Forum gms = Gamestar Forum guf = Gaming Universe Forum hcg = hardcore gaming 101 m!g = M!Games Forum mmx = Multimediaxis Forum ntl = NintendoLife Forum mnc = altes maniac Forum pcx = PCX Forum pop = PowerPlay Forum vgz = Videogameszone Forum vpf = Vierpfeile Forum Here is the Amiga-Board-exclusive-list: 1 - 22 points - Nobby_UK (banana defends against lightning from maniac forum) 2 - 21 points - darkwave (banana also defends against lightning) 3 - 8.5 points - haynor666 (+2,5: used triple mushroom, but got hit by lightning) 4 - 6.5 points - lilalurl (-0,5: uses mushroom, but gets red shelled from gamepro forum and lighting) Congrats to Nobby_UK for the local lead, and to both Nobby and darkwave for the top 10 placement - this will get the english amiga board points in the end of year ranking. October Quiz - Sound FX #3 Feared by some, celebrated by more: It's time for the extra-elaborate version of my series... the sound FX quiz! So then, in its third installment... for 40 years video games have been beeping and ringing into our ears - do you think some of these sounds and words stuck with you? Time to find out! As I can't post sound effects in this forum (the picture below is just a dummy), you can find the quiz at the URL below. The form to enter your answers can be found by clicking the "click to join" button. Here is the quiz: www.retrogamequiz.com Deadline is Wednesday the 31st of October. And don't forget: Sure this is ridiculously difficult, often even harder than the image riddles. But remember that's the case for everyone, so please don't be discouraged and join in. |

October Quiz - Clues #1 "Hey! Listen!", "Now let's take a look...", "50.000 people used to live here..." and then just a row full of laughter?! - that's the October sound quiz for you. How are you getting on so far? The average score is just shy of six points (oh dear!) and so far we are 25 people (two from here). The number one spot is currently tied between the Multimediaxis and English Amiga Board - but both still have less than half of the points. Think we can do more? I hope so! So far there's only three titles nobody found out (22,23,24), but numbers for the others are still really low. Here are some clues: 1) The Sounds 6, 13, 19, 21 and 22 are from the intros of their games. 2) The games 2, 4, 6, 7, 16, 17 and 25 are played from the first person perspective. 3) Number 23 and 24 are succesful MMOs. 4) Titles 1, 5, 12 and 14 are from Nintendo. 5) Game 8 is based on a disney license. So, did that help? :P Here is the quiz: http://www.retrogamequiz.com Deadline is Wednesday the 31st of October. Last edited by Mr_Horizon; 14 October 2018 at 15:13. |

October Quiz - Clues #2
Yesterday I sent a link to this sound quiz to a friend right next to me, who then proceeded to click through all 25 fields on a full bus. *eyeroll* Be responsible, do the quiz when you're alone or use headphones! Average score went up slightly, now at 6 points for 37 people in total (two from here). The MMX Forum had to hand over leadership to the english Amiga board this week - so far there are only five candidates who broke the 10-points-barrier, and none of them by a lot. Keep on trying - Only game 22 has not been guessed at all. Here are some clues again: 1) In all three Sound FX riddles there has not been a game used twice. You can check previous quizzes with the "previous" buttons. 2) However, the titles 1, 11 and 17 are from game series where a different (older!) part had already been used in a previous sound quiz. 3) Game 4 puts you in a procedurally generated 3D world. 4) Title number 7 has you fight a lot of zombies. 5) Games 10, 16, 19 and 20 have been developed for or by Sega, and have all been released on the Dreamcast. quiz link: www.retrogamequiz.com Deadline is Wednesday October 31st. |

Quite good ears you seem to have there, Nobby. ^^ And I though I would wing it with barely about half of them already xD Cheers /) |
