Beta 6:

- added 4 channel and cloned stereo in 5.1 native mode. Workaround for non-working 4.0 modes on many sound cards. (5.1 center and lf channels are silent currently)
- 4ch/6ch mode swap channel, interpolation, filter (anti and sinc only) and stereo separation support added
- IDE CHS calculation fixed. Max heads is always 16 and max sectors is 63 for drives smaller than 8GB. (A600/A1200 crashed or gurued with large HDF images) >8G should also work, current "hardware" max limit is 128G (no LBA48 support) NOTE: CHS value is only imaginary value for compatibility purposes and it has nothing to do with real geometry, it can even change and HD still works fine. Internally it is always translated to LBA.
- added some ATA-3 bits to identify drive reply

Quick B6 archive update, IDE emulation froze if total transfer was larger than currently set number of multimode sectors.

It's ttengine.library/TT_SetAttrsA which crashes.

Here is a small test program. Works fine in beta 3 and earlier.

This is JIT + 68040/060 only problem too, right?

EDIT: still can't duplicate. (tested on basic OS3.9 installation + ttengine.library installed, OS3.1+all kinds of patches installation and AmiKit, no crashes. Same with limpidclock.)

I dont know if im doing this correct, but setting up a brand new hdf using the new ide0 mode is giving me some trouble.

using an A600HD config, running hd toolbox and setting up the hd through read drive properties isnt working. read properties , apply, but hdtoolbox freezes when saving. some really odd reason i cant install via 2.0 hd install disk(A600hd version) . when it tries copying over prefs/font it stops.

running the prep scripts works fine on a fresh hdf, but still stops at copying over the file. just cant work it out ... (wb2.05 floppy set with kick 37.350)

no issues with normal hdf(or at least didnt have)

Do you get "out of event2's! PC=xxxxxx" in log when it freezes? It seems "immediate" IDE isn't good idea, it can cause interrupt storms.. (A600HD installation worked fine here, it froze completely for few seconds and then continued, accidentally..)

EDIT: Workaround: Untick "More compatible" CPU option.

Believe it or not, a click on "clear registry" on the paths page made it work.

But does it work without "more compatible"? (and ce also disabled)

Thats really weird.. Perhaps some KS ROM identification data was corrupted. Does it still work if you manually select 3.x KS ROM files?

No hasnt changed anything. id better check it still works with the previous way of making hdf's (was working in beta4 )

EDIT: Using uaehf.device is working fine still with hdtoolbox and wb2.0 installer works fine. id like to note that hdtoolbox Read Drive deffinations has an error in this mode forcing it to make a guess, but partitioning is not a problem. using ide0 drive deffinations appears to work fine, but just cant save(freeze) and even instaler wb freezes.

also, does the maxtransfer setting need looking after just like a real amiga also ? im just using a 20mb hdf for this testing, just like the original A600HD hehe

Ive also noticed another option .. Escom Floppy ..lol. what does this d. drop support for ready signal ?

I forsee an update where youll be able to select board revision and have the associated niggles assiciated with each

"Harddrive" should work fine even with largest transfer (256 sectors)

Yeah

Fortunately PCB revision only changes layout. Different chip revisions will be added to advanced chipset if the difference is "visible" to Amiga-side programs.

The new version seems to have sorted the issues with ide0/1.

I can now save changes to rdb now in hdtoolbox and the wb2 install disk completes the install process now,Using prepHD,FormatHD scripts.

I have observed that PrepHD sets up a different drive setup then the HDtoolbox "read drive deffinitions" button. Prephd claws back a few more K and reports 20mb hd where as hdtoolbox Drive Deffinitions reports back 19mb.

EDIT: It seems something odd is going on when emu is minimised. it seems config specific though so deffinatly something particular with config similar to a600hd. wb has just booted to desktop. minime emu. about 10 seconds later, winuaecrash. Its been doing it last few versions, but now emu gets as far as opening debug window as its crashing

Yes, it does. I don't find a way to reproduce the error.

Beta 7:

- hardfile reset routine randomly read non-existing memory (b4)
- IDE emulation froze if total read or write transfer was larger than current multimode sector amount
- added 2 scanline delay before IDE command complete-interrupt is sent. Could cause missed interrupts in compatible 68000-mode and also made emulation sluggish during large reads or writes.
- HRTMon IDE commands work now in A600 configuration.
- HD onscreen led write color fixed in IDE mode
- 4/6 channel modes should really work with Emu10K based cards.. (I can always hope..)
- USP and ISP registers are back in debugger
- brightness/contrast/gamma setting added to display panel (not working in real time yet. And I guess I lied, it works in AGA too..)
- "IDE Splitter" / "4-Way IDE" hardware emulation added. IDEFix or similar driver needed. Enabled if IDE3/IDE4 selected
- much faster IDE in JIT modes

I can guess it for sure, Damien.

@Toni:

It seems you have mixed up the gamma slider. The colour brightness increases by pulling the slider to the left. Or is it supposed to be working in that way.

Edit: I noticed a problem with the config files. After starting a custom made config the GUI is shown up, and i never use "Show GUI on startup". Can't fix it, even a new created config doesn't work. WinUAE sets the "Show GUI on startup" tick automatically.

The configs starts only through the "Configurations" list in WinUAE. Very strange, there are no problems with Beta 6.
