[Found: MegaForce] Looking for the name of a mech-type game

Back in the day I remember playing a game featuring large Mechs in a top-down, turn-based (I think), map-interface game. I can't remember the title. It was probably late 80's.

The only thing I know for sure it's NOT BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception.

That's the one. Didn't find an entry for "MechForce" in the HoL database but I found a Youtube video of it. [ Show youtube player ]

I did some googling and I found a reddit post describing the original game:

Quote:
Anyone know what happened to Ralph H. Reed, creator of Mech Force?
Mech Force was a great battle tech share ware game that was created by a man named Ralph H. Reed.

At the time in 1990, it became very popular, however FASA got wind of it, and forced Mr. Reed to shut it down and cease production and distribution.

I remember getting a letter from Mr. Reed explaining that he was still working on "something" and that we would be offered his latest project. I assumed that this would be a retooled Mech Force with different names, images etc., to distance itself from the FASA properties.

However it seems that people were in contact with him for awhile, and then he just disappeared. Years ago I wrote a letter to the AFB that he used as his address for people to send cheques to. However they claimed they had no record of him there. So that seemed odd...

Anyways, i was just curious if anyone knew more about the story of Mech Force, Ralph and FASA. It was such a great game, it's a shame that it was forced to be stopped.

Also found another Youtube video about the same game though under the name " [ Show youtube player ]":
