Best SNES Platformers?
Ok, there was a semi-recent thread about SNES favourites, but this is a bit more specific.
What do you guys reckon are the best platformers released for the SNES? PZ. |

Super Turrican 1 & 2. Actually I like the SNES Turricans better than the Amiga ones...
And don't forget Donkey Kong Country, great fun that one! Last edited by Skope; 18 March 2009 at 02:57. |

I'm a big fan of platformers and the SNES had some of the best of all time. I figure they popular ones will get mentioned by others so I'm going with some of the more obscure gems...
They're all worth checking out. |

Aero the Acrobat. Technically one of the best SNES platformers and also uses almost ever trick in the book for the sound too. One of the last games without an extra chip to be fully emulated.

I second the Turricans, Dracula X and Kirby dreamland 3.
If you don't mind the Japanese, the Goemon series is quite nice. I prefer the 4. The 2 can be fun in 2-player simulatneous mode. The 3 has some RPGish parts so it's a bit troublesome sometimes not having a translation. Also, Magical Pop'n is quite fun to play and I think that there is an IPS patch around. |

D'oh! Forgot about that one! Scratch all others.
Super Metroid was the most fun platformer I played on the SNES. Had me hooked for weeks. |
