A2000 Co-pro Adapter for Vampire 500, a508ide and others
Here are the gerber files for my Amiga 2000 Co processor slot. This will allow you to plug in your processor into the co processor slot instead of having to remove psu tray etc.
It also allows you to plug in the A508IDE board into the slot for easier install. You simply connect the 2 pin cable to the oVR/int2 cable into the provided header The Vampire 500 will also fit into this slot for easy use. When you get this made please make sure that the board house add the 30 degree bevel to the fingers which will prevent damage to the Co pro slot. (pcbway.com). Most board houses do not add this bevel, if it is not done by the board house please add it yourself by filing the edge. The CD32 boards had issues pushing the pins back due to this issue here are the V.95 CoPro Gerber files. www.kipper2k.com/a2000/bridgeboardv095.zip The Int7 circuit use 3 diodes and the capacitors are a 0.1uf cap. The a600 Int7 circuit can be used with the V600 if the option is added to the vampire core. Resistor can use small value 100ohms This board can be sold freely by others providing a simple acknowledement of the author (me) is stated in the ad. Just realized, i need to post a pic, i will update in a bit Last edited by kipper2k; 07 July 2020 at 16:42. |

It looks like you are very close to an "A2508-IDE" all one board included! Thank you for all of the hard work!

Am I correct in thinking you have to use a spare 68000 CPU and the one on the motherboard is no longer used?

Things like A508IDE, Memory modules, Vampire and other devices now have the room to be easily installed and swapped out. |

Do you have to remove the 68000 from the MB socket for this to work correctly? It sounds like you do. That's cool. Just interested.

Yup, you need to remove it or there will be contention for some of the devices that require a 68000 cpu mounted on that specific board, an accelerator board will just take control of the bus so it shouldnt require removing

I modified the A508IDE to fit better inside the A2000, here is a glimpse, I tried to get the 44 pin IDE on but even with 4 layers it would be too crowded. I think most people use CF cards anyway rather than the energy guzzling HDDs
(notice that the CF cards now load in from the side and not top down). The board itself is also smaller 100mm x 100mm square |

that one looks cool and compact!!! So it is 4 layer board that will work on A500 and A2000, right? What about A1000? will it autoboot with KS 3.1 installed? ragards, -Viktor |

Hi,
Thanks for the kind words, Schematics are pretty well the same, it will work in all that the original version works in, i am just verifying physical shape in other models before i commit it to production |

i'm definitely interested in one, assembled or as DIY kit. as dimensions are 10x10cm - it will fit perfectly in any model

Replacing the CF slot with a plain 40 pin IDE header would be more convenient since it would allow you to use one of those slot covers with a CF adapter for easy external access.

Hmm, decisions, decisions, there may be room to add a 40 pin header in place of the CF header but not both, it is (probably) possible to make the 1 board with both options available but only one can be implemented, i.e. you get either the IDE header version or the CF version and then the question arises where to obtain the power for the HDD, probably a 4 pin header from the main PSU so as not to generate too much current through the board.
And of course, use a 40 pin or 44 pin header ? People have a lot of opinions |

here is updated board, i added a 40 and a 44 pin ide header so you can use either Compact Flash OR the 40 and 44 pin header. (i havent decided to allow master/slave yet
no change to the board size, still 100mm square |
