Aeon's Legend - A BitBeamCannon action platformer

YouTube video by SaberMan

[ Show youtube player ]

https://www.whatiff.info/pastissues.html#issue11

Aeon's Legend (formerly known as Scorpion Boy) is an action platformer by BitBeamCannon in conjunction with myself at PixelGlass.

The September edition of the digital WhatIFF? magazine had a copy of the "enhanced" 32 color edition aimed at machines above OCS. This is what is shown in the video.

I may see if I can do an ADF of the regular 16 color edition for 1MB A500 in the next few days.

AGA recommended but not required for the Enhanced version, an upgraded ECS machine should be able to run it. A two button gamepad is needed.

We don't really have a timeline for this - Daemon Claw and Metro Siege are higher priorities for BitBeamCannon right now, and I have Scorpion and other projects I need to make headway on (AlarCity). But we'll keep plugging away at it as time becomes available.

In any case, I do hope you enjoy the demo and I'd love to share more with you once we've made further progress.

Tested yesterday, I like graphics and playability.

It does a lot of console gaming.

I seen it some time ago. Hard to say I see any difference, background music was added? Game looks very promising. I understood it is just early test to see what will work and how people will react. If it have a chance to become full game I would love to see more verticality in level design, maybe more open stages similar to Sonic.

Thanks earok, it looks like a promising fun game, and glad it's going to use more than 1 button for gameplay!!

Thanks for all the hard work. There maybe one or two people who are not overwhelmed by this, I say to them... "WHAT?? Let's see you do it!"

High colour commercial quality gfx.
Animated backgrounds and sprites.
Parallax scrolling.

There were many a commercial release back in the day that were considerably inferior to what you've made here. Keep going. A labour of love in the background.

looks great, might give that a try even tho i hate games that use a "boing/spring" noise for jumping, woulda prefered nothing or a less grating "whoosh" kinda noise. the only noise more annoying imho is the usual "doo-da-liing" noise when picking up gems/coins/etc in oh so many/too many games.

Aural stimulation is provided by the joint efforts of JMD and Tsak, that already provided you Worthy and Raid over Moscow
