SEGA Mega Drive, PC Engine & SNES

Hi, there.

I'm interested in everything concerning to these great consoles especially links to boards, game lists/reviews, roms and emulators. Every response will be welcome...

BTW, I open a poll (my first, please help me admins, if I did something wrong):
Which console is the best ? Please answer why (e.g. best games etc.)...

Here are some of my links so far...

http://www.genesisproject.co.uk/
http://pcenginebible.roarvgm.com/
http://www.mega-drive.de/

Thanks.

Sega MD is the coolest 16 bit console! I know very little about PC Engine, is it a 16 bit console?

Strangely enought I prefer Sega Master System the 8bit cosole over Sega Mega Drive

I remember I emulated it once and played Turrican. It wasn't as good as an Amiga though

What about Turrican on MD, is it better than the AMIGA-Version ?

Look at this:

I voted for the PCE, on the hardware side, it was the most advaned console of these three and the games are great

Sadly enough it had not been such successfull as the two others, but that´s cause it´s market was mainly in Japan

The best console is....... CD32

Actually I selected Genesis, because SEGA was more influential in the arcades than the other manufactures, and they made followups for some of thier games on the Genesis only (Wonderboy and Golden Axe come to mind)

Mega Turrican on the Genesis is the basically the same as the Amiga Turrican 3, but the music is quite as good IMHO.

Most people seem to overlook the fact that there was also Super Turrican 1 & 2 on the SNES, which is fairly different from the Amiga games, and worthwhile playing if you've finished every other Turrican game (but play the Amiga ones first! )

Are you sure? I thought the original PCE was only 8-bit. Another version was released much later in the PCE life, which might have been better, but I'm sure the original wasn't as good as the SNES technically (GFX and Sound wise).

Yes I know the SNES was technically only 8-bit too, but I can't be bothered editing my post to suit. The GFX and sound points still remain though

I never had any of these, I was always pure Amiga , but the one I wanted the most was the Sega Megadrive for games like Sonic the Hedgehog. Still I don't regret for a minute having an Amiga over the consoles of the time, and I did have a console a bit later in the CD32

Yes and no The main CPU was 8-Bit and the gfx chip was 16-Bit so it was called a "16-Bit Console" But anyway, it belongs to the 16-Bit-Aera of Console Systems

Well, SNES has better GFX and sound, so it can't be that technically advanced

Anyway, AmiGer, if you like Jap style RPG's (Like me) the SNES is the ONLY console to have

Some of Square's finest work is on the SNES

My fav is the MD, no doubt. It has the best games around.

The PCE is 8 bits, but it can nearly kick Mega-Drive ass. It's undoubtly the most advanced 8 bits system ever.

The SNES has only a small amount of good games (Unlike the Mega-Drive, that has LOTS of good games).

Does anyone know of a good site for PC Engine downloads (emulators and games) as it is one of the few systems that I am not emulating.
Also are the emulators easy to set-up?
