I had serious slowdown problems when running the slave on a PPC A1200. No matter what the tool types were the game was awfully slow and unstable. Now that i have an 060 A1200 i'm running SWOS 96-97 (updated with 11-12 rosters courtesy of Synchro updates) very smoothly by just adding "Cache" in the tool types. Are there any chances that i could beta test the new slave?

In addition i have noticed a bug while saving a career. Let's say i save a career under the name "Liv1" and as i progress through the game i want to save the same under different names (Liv2, Liv2 etc). After a system reboot and when i try to load the different saved careers, the game will only recognize the first saved file (Liv1). Any ideas? I have found a simple walk around for the problem by deleting/renaming saved careers but there should be a better way to do it.

Tested on my A1200, 4mb expanded FAST Ram, (Zorro II 193)
Using latest WHDLoad, ClassicWB, 4Gb CF card.

Could replicate the Tactic error on all above installs. (Basically, I go into edit tactics, make a change, then save it. I then go back into tactics editor, choose one of the custom tactics, choose import, load, and choose the previously saved one, and it then places all the players near bottom right of tactics pitch).

I also tried playing some quick matches on all versions, didn't notice any slowdowns, but do the slowdowns only affect 040's/060's?

Anyway, can get more detailed information on my setup if required...
Thats great, thanks for that. So, probably best if we sort out the tactics bug first, which will be a universal application to all versions, then we'll do the rest.

Any chances that you check why the SWOS2 (Season 2011 update) file crashes your current v1.7 slave with an "illegal instruction"? It works fine without, but some leagues crashes then, e.g. Italy or Greece (new league structures since 1997).

the update

Slowdowns on Tekmagic 2060, BPPC with 060, Cyberstorm 060 MK2 + MK3, GVP A530, VXL*30, ACA630 (AFAIR), Blizzard 1260... Well a lot of systems are affected.

However works well on Apollo 4060.

Then don't forget to support the season 2012/13 update.

The 2013/14 season update should follow in the next few weeks.

Sorry but I can't understand the problem with this WHDLoad game. Everytime I played with it (A1200) I haven't had any kind of problem. SWOS works perfectly, but I never tried to start a season, only friendly matches.

It only affects certain processor boards, but basically its a blitter problem, SWOS relies heavily on use of the blitter and on some processors it stalls and stutters because the processor is getting through the code quicker than the blitter can finish its job before the next one is required.

I had no problems on my 68060, but i've seen it for myself on some 68030 boards.

Try to save/load a custom tactic!
