Found: C=64 compilation in a DOS setup

You guys might know I am a huge MS DOS games fan. One of the fun things while hunting for DOS games is discerning the titles and crucial time frame when VGA & SVGA caught fire and pushed Amiga and Atari into the backseat.
This time, I found something that I did not expect. It's a C=64 games compilation, much like the compilations some of us here make for the PC paying tribute to Amiga games, or hackers make using NES,SMS, and TG-16 roms for the GBA. You can get the idea now. Anyway, I think that this basically is a frontend using the PC64 C=64 emu for MS DOS.
It contains 564 C=64 games, and works perfectly well in DosBox.
Just an interesting Thing you guys might find historically cool.

Eek Ow my...

Good find, Fred. This package actually started my games emulation-fever. I remember I found this once on a warez-cd back in 1996.
These games are runable from a DOS-front end but in fact it runs everytime PC64, an ancient C64 emulator.
PC64 is one basic emulator: it can only read C64 disk-files (*.D64), no tape files, it has only one resolution (full screen) and it used my Soundblaster soundcard to simulate C64 sound.

Nevertheless this package started my games emulation-mania... Has it really been eight years?

Wow, Tim, nice to see you on this thread
We're two old timers here. I am pleasantly surprised this compilation got you on the emulation/retrogaming track! Funny, in 2005, the games that were new in 1996 are definitley ancient now.
If you want the file, it's 14 MB. I could archive it into sections and upload it to the Zone for all interested parties?

You won't have to upload it for me. I still have it ARJ-ed on PC discs. It is resting in my PC discbox between my discs of Doom II, Days of the Tentacle and Wordperfect 5.1.

However, I think the PC64 emulator would be interesting for the C64 community only to see how yesterday's DOS C64-emulators behave on today's machines.

That is an interesting find, and I'd love to play around with it myself. Is this something that ought to be available for download somewhere on the web? I'd hate to put you to the trouble of breaking it up and Zone-ing it if I could just as easily download it elsewhere.

Yeah, I remember that... It was DAMN slow with my brother's 486DX/40, but I spent a lot of time with it, cause I was quite happy that something like this was released for the PC! Good find, Fred! Ofcoz, nowadays this thing is totally useless in fact, but it's still *fun*.

Hey Chuck, no trouble at all! I forgot the link, so i will upload the 10 parts into the zone! I agree with you, Tim, I think that version of the C=64 emu is very hard to find.
Commie, it is kinda intersting, that maybe someone could mess around with the files and revise it? I dunno, but it'd be nice to see.

Yes, indeed! But a regular C=64 could do it better, hehe! For nostalgia purposes this would be nice, though!
