Question How to enable state saving with HD image game.

I am new to Amiga emulators and FS-UAE.

I have manage to get FS-UAE set up, and I have downloaded a game, Flashback, to documents/FS-UAE/Downloads and rescanned my games. This game uses a lha hard drive image.

The game runs fine, but when I hit F12, the SAVE STATE and LOAD STATE menu items are not selectable.

How do I enable this feature?

Also, I would like to map one of my controller buttons (XBOX) to a keyboard key. I found an article that describes how to do it, but it starts by saying "Edit the .ini file...". Which .ini file is it referring to?

Thanks in advance!

Also wanted to point out that I am using the Launcher to run the game.

Look at FS-UAE options (save & load state).
Even with the launcher you can define manually some options : click on the "Additional Configuration" icon and then click on "Custom configuration".

OK, mapping the controller button worked that way.

Looking at the FS_UAE Launcher log shows that it's picking up on the "save_states = 1" option I put in, but when it generates the .ini file for FS_UAE, save_states is explicitly set to 0

On top of that, the custom config is not saved when you exit the launcher.

Is there a way I can create a per-game in file somewhere that the launcher will find and pass on to FA_UAE?

1. Click on the "New Config" icon
2. Change the name "Unnamed Configuration" to the name you want (game's name)
3. Change the needed options accordingly
4. Save the configuration by clicking the "Save Config" icon.

Now you have a "per-game" config that you can load

By the way, on the 2.8.3 I am using there is a refresh issue, so play with the drop-down list "Config & Game" to have your config displayed
