Amiga & Pc ethernet problems?

Im stuck

I have NetconnectV2, using its Genesis TCP stack....
im also using Cardreset to get around the gayle bug,
and Cnet.device for the pcmcia card.

The pc's ethernet card and the amiga pcmcia one connect at 10mpbs no problem! I just cannot get the amiga or pc to actually work? like getting pc drives to appear on the amiga etc...

I also cant ping each machine! it just fails at 100% packet loss?
could this be cuased by my Apollo 1230Lc which isnt pcmcia compatible? I have 8 megs of ram on it at the moment and was thinking about setting it to 4megs as i heard back along that this can solve problems with the card slot on a1200's.

Do you use the same IP Range for both computers ?? Like PC -> 192.168.0.1 and Amiga -> 192.168.0.2 ? Then it should do allright with the Ping .... and btw. if the Apollo wouldn´t work together with PCMCIA, the port would be dead, so Genesis would not even find the card !

For sharing PC Drives, you have to set up SMB-Connect on the Amiga side and mount the PC Drives you share ....

yes both machines have their own ip's

Pc: 169.254.0.1
Amiga: 169.254.0.2
Subnet mask's: 255.255.0.0

Cnetdevice has its own card test software which does confirm the card is present so at least the apollo isnt conflicting!

SMB-Connect doesn't seem to function on my machine? it times out and i cannot force it work... unless i have done something wrong! more than likely...
