wanting a quiet scsi HDD

I'm looking for a quiet SCSI HDD. The one I'm using is really noisy and makes the whole A500 vibrate.
Also, it needs to have an old 50pin interface as there's no room in the HD8+ for a cable converter if you want to put the lid back on.

Any recommendations in the 2-4GB range that I should scour ebay for?

Thanks, although I should have mentioned my budget is closer to 5 quid than 1500 bucks.
Sadly these beauties are out of my range.

I am in a similar position as rare_j. I am looking for a SCSI HDD too although silence is not essential.....

I have a BPPC with scsi cable. The cable is 50 pin, but very small. SCSI devices are new ground to me.
Can someone recommend a type of SCSI HDD that I should look out for, and if necessary the appropriate adaptor. I use os3.9 with FFS, I take it that this means the 4gb limit no longer applies?

Also this is all building up to me towering one of my A1200s. If all goes to plan, I hope to have a new tower and mediator this weekend.

Who here wants to hold my hand and guide me through the towering process, from Hardware to mediator software installation?

hello,

on my amiga, there is 2 scsi cd, an old quantum 4go uwscsi and an scsi2ide adaptator and a seagate baracuda IDE 160go.

this seagate barracuda IDE on my scsi chain (with the help of the scsi2ide adaptator) work great and the best is:

- no noise.
- no noise when writing or reading.
- never hot and even never take temperature during running time.

It's a verry best HD and the prize for an scsi2ide adaptator + IDE HD is much more lower than a simple SCSI HD.

last SCSI HD uwscsi 160 or 320 doesn't work on scsikit due to 25->50->68 pins scsi chain

Aren't these scsi2ide adapters really expensive and hard to buy?

hello,

It's acard products from http://www.acard.com

mine is aec-7720U baught on the amiga shop vesalia in germany. arrive in my home on some days.

sure if more want to buy this stuff to amigakit, amigakit also could sell this products. I have talked to amigakit around january/february this year about this point and amigakit answer me (mean great company but I don't think they sell this product actually.

vesalia is also a great company and all could buy products from them without problems.

see this link (hope all copied).

http://www.vesalia.de/?V02b0f1452564...16c7b427324716

this device is fitted directly to the IDE HD and just an additionnal standard power cable (the little size with 4 cables) found on all power supply is necessary.

this device work also with cdrw and dvdrw ide on amiga.

If anyone wants SCSI drives, PM me. Have a few going spare for peanuts. 1GB+, both 50 and 68pin (and slimline 50/68 adaptors), even cabling.
