From the 2nd level, Ghosts'n'Goblins has serious problems with CD32 control pad support: first button doesn't fire always. Only solution is to deactivate 2nb button support in WHDLoad gui at startup of the game.
Tested on CD32 original control pad, KTRL CD32, KTRL CD32+, Kipper PSX adapter. Tested also on MiST FPGA with latest Minimig AGA core which use standard USB controllers to emulate CD32 pad. In this case I use an INNEXT Supernes USB control pad. I know there is Mantis Bug Tracker to advice of possible bugs on certain games. |

Don't hesitate to open a bug report. The particular game is the issue with a given joypad. Not whdload or your machine.
When adding joypad support you have to be extra careful of many aspects. - detect joypad or 2-button joystick either continuously or at game start. 2-button joystick behaves badly when reading CD32 controller. - read joypad buttons at the start of a VBLANK or near it, using ReadJoyPad.s routine - don't read it continuously (like in unpause phases), wait until vblank - if you read all buttons, remove all other game reads for fire button, as it can fail, specially for third party controllers. That's my experience, gained by responding to mantis issues on various games, discussing with the problem creators and having the problem solved & confirmed by the problem creator... |

One more thing, which i just noticed now. When is "CD32 only" (or similar) description it NOT means that's about hardware, but game version. You can play CD32 version of game on other hardware (e.g. A1200) and all buttons are used same as on CD32.
Overall, CD32 joypads should work on all Amiga models, but of course it's depending if game supports CD32 joypads. |
