Do you enjoy playing your own games?

To those who actually created a game on their own. Do you enjoy playing your own game, after it is released, or are you just happy that you are finally done with it and barely look at it again, possibly going to the next project?

Once i'm done on something, I want nothing more to do with it.

Once its released, its liked or loathed, and its done.

I certainly don't like playing anything i've done, thats not because I don't like the game in question, but constant playtesting makes for a tedious experience.

Yeah, I can imagin that. I also wonder if you played your game, that you would start to think about how this should have been different or that should be changed.

Maybe not the best examples because I only remade games (I wrote original 8 bit games a long time ago but they mostly suck)
I surprisingly enjoyed playing Bagman remake, because it plays 99% like the original, and I didn't write the original.

Also I enjoyed playing the level of Gods that I created on my remake, because I had forgotten most of the secret stuff I had put it, so it was almost like someone else created the levels

But yes, generally the playtesting kills the fun.

There was one game I made, Revolver, that required either the left or right mouse button to make moves on a grid, under a tight time limit, so speed was sometimes of the essence.

Unfortunately (and this is the stupid and infuriating bit) I chose to make BOTH mouse buttons cancel the game. How idiotic is that, eh? I only wish I could hack the game to eliminate that option.

After I spent so much time with testing my games during development I rarely play it again when finally released.

I played Rygar for the first time at the SWAG last weekend since Amiga 34 in October.

I was glad to see the fucking back of it.

Why don't you do it then? It isn't hard to patch binaries if you know how to use a disassembler and /or assembler, all you have to do is finding the offending code in the binary. Once done, you can replace it with whatever code you like.

No, we created Downfall and Maxwell Mouse together with Graham Humphrey and I do not enjoy playing those. And I doubt anybody else does
