A1200 memory expansion - Remove battery?
Hi,
I have this expansion: complete with clock battery, that's marked as a rechargeable type. Can I just desolder this and leave the board as is or do I need to add a diode or anything?   Don't want this thing leaking! Ta! |

You only need a diode if you want to replace it with a non-rechargeable battery. But other than keeping the internal clock at the right time, you don't need the battery at all.

Ah yeah that makes sense, to stop the board trying to send charge IN to it
it looks mostly OK but i'm going to take it off just in case. |

I don't know anything about it to be honest, it came with the A1200 when I got it.
