cdtv: question about joypad and keyboard

Every amiga500's keyboard I have starts to fail, so my question is: is it possible to modify the cdtv's keyboard to make it works with amiga 500? does the "ctrl-amiga-amiga" reset work?

second question - about cdtv's joypad: I don't like the D-Pad, is there a way to improve it?

I don't think that will work, but it's preferable to buy an A500 keyboard instead (much less time and effort). But you can switch to black keys if you want; that's easy.

If you want to use normal joysticks on CDTV, then you have to buy a Brickette which offers 2 D-Sub ports to plug joysticks.

You need to add transistor Q1 from the Amiga 500 keyboard to the CDTV keyboard. Naturally you'd also need to add a 6 pin mini din to the A500 in able to plug it in.

However it is quite easy to rejuvenate the A500 keyboard, it's just a matter of wiping the membrane clean + buffing the rubber pads that strike the membrane with a piece of paper.

Why not just buy a brand new membrane for the a500 keyboard?

Depending on what you have there... Rwap (spelling?) sells brand new items that are re-produced professionally and will fit both the A500 and A500+ layout.
