The Plague PAL version

Hiii everyone,

I am still looking for the PAL version of "The Plague".

I know that StringRay started by the past to crack it but he didn't have the time to continue his work for now.

I know that dlfrsilver owns the original too and i bet that it can be easily copied, like "Battle Squadron" for example (i have a 100% perfect copy of the original PAL version, done simply by X-Copy Pro in Nibble mode).

So, so, sooooooo is any frenchy can sell me a copy of the original disks or sell me the original ??? dlfrsilver ????

I'm waiting for ur answers.

Thanks !

You can't easy copy The Plague game. This game uses many SYNC-s plus one no-MFM (GCR ?) track as protection.

This is not a GCR track, it's just a short track (normal MFM), all other tracks are long tracks. Game uses 10 different SYNCS for disk 1, 14 for disk 2.

Pick powercopy in the powercopy pro thread, then pick the "the plague game" both release in original format to copy back to disk.

enjoy !

Please read : http://eab.abime.net/attachment.php?...6&d=1304496244

Powercopy 3.07a is now cracked ! so there is no problem to write back a disk image (in fact the disk images are put as tracks).

Use the DEV: to DF0: on your Amiga 1200 and you're done !

Sorry i don't know anything about the amiga dos .
But im not sure to understand well.
So to sum up,
1. On my pc I take the IPFs files and copy them with powercopy on blank disks.
then I put the files created on my flash card for example.
2. I open a shell on my A1200 and i type the command line u wrote ???
What is "DEV" ? A directory i suppose ? The directory where i have to copy the files before ??
Can u explain this clearer please ?

Thanks for ur help, i know i don't know anything about the amiga dos but unfortunatly i don't have some time to learn...

Ok, i guess a tutorial on how to copy and transfer with powercopy is needed. I will write it tonight once back at home.

You need an A1200 with hard drive to use the disk image process. Use an A500 is not the right choice at first.

i zoned the disk images as track files. You can't write an extended ADF with powercopy back on a real disk.

You have files named PC001 to PC159 each are a cylinder part that is made to be copied back to disk.

Ok i just tried with "the plague" : it didn't work.

I installed LHA on WinUAE, packed the PC files for the two disks, unpacked on two different directories (one for each disk), transfered Powercopy, set all the parameters as you wrote on the 'Powercopy pro' thread then did the copies.

The fist time i loaded the disk one, i though it worked : the menu was loading with music, the hiscores table, everything... But when i pressed the fire button, i had a black screen and the led drive remained on. Then nothing.

I did the copy of the first disk again and noticed that there was a 'F' error on the track 42 on each side (i read after what it meant). I changed the parameters (speed adjust ON unlike u wrote) but the copy was in loop on the first track so i cancelled it. I unselected speed adjust again like the fist time, then did again the copy and this time... the game menu simply didn't load anymore uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh .

So it doesn't work at all, except if i forgot one important thing (but i did exacty all you wrote).

I used the PC files in the archive which is zoned here.

Any idea ??

Thanks for your help.

UNTICK the speed adjust !!!! You don't have the hardware dongle, so speed OFF !

I have written both disk successfully on real disks before posting the disk images.

You failed because you did follow the steps i wrote :S (pffff.... do tutorial as they said )

Errrr.... Sorry but i did exactly what u wrote... I unticked the speed adjust the first time and only reached the game menu then NOTHING. I will try again but i don't see really what can i do more. It is not in my habbit not to respect a process, i am very rigorous (because of my job in maths) AND I DID EXACTLY WHAT U WROTE, SEVERAL TIMES, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo please try to talk friendly. To answer me "pffff... do tutorial as they said" doesn't make things progress...

Not yet, I still have to find the reason for the graphics bugs in level 1 which appear randomly after some minutes.

That's the protection track thus the error.
