Amiga Forever CF drive not booting
I have just got a 16gb Amiga Forever Kit with Workbench 3.1 from Amigastore and I cant get it to boot.
Have I missed/got something wrong? I opened it up, insulated the hard drive bay and installed it. All I get is the floppy trying to boot screen. The light on the CF adaptor flashes once as you power it up so it has power to it. I got a PCMCIA adaptor too but I guess the drivers install once you get into Workbench? Please help. |

Its not that difficult just download the latest version of Winuae, and install it on your PC the run it and just pick `Quick start` then on the dropdown on the right select an Amiga system I.E A1200 and it will set up a basic system automatically for you, then click`` load``
this will put your system in ready to boot mode. you hopefully already have your cf connected to your PC but before that click CD and Hard Drives then `Add Hard drive` just pick your CF from the Drop down list it will say `RDB` this will be your CF as its Amiga means `Rigid Disk Block` Click at the bottom `ADD Hard Drive` and then `RUN` Hopefully it will boot your CF |

Excellent thanks I had Winuae just didn't know how to mount it.
Well the CF card works it mounted ok and runs I can see/use the workbench. So does this mean the cable or reader is probably faulty? I havent another to try |

Yep it looks like your Adapter or IDE cable is faulty , so get in touch with Amigakit and ask for another adapter/IDE cable,
also just check you have everything plugged in correctly on the IDE header, PIn 1 on the IDE cable(stripe on cable indicates pin 1) to Pin 1 on the IDE 44 pin header and push the CF adapter onto to the IDE cable just to make sure you have good connections |

Thanks for the help really appreciate it.
I have plugged the CF adaptor with a blank card into a hard drive caddy and it doesn't show the card but does light up. Just my luck I ordered the Amiga Forever kit to make it easy at least I can play with the emulation Thanks again |

Not impressed with Amigastores customer service when they did respond it was to tell me they would pass it on to their technical department who haven’t yet responded. I got the kit so I dint have to mess around I should have just got a card reader adaptor and done it myself
