My bet: there is partition table on that CF card.
Remove any partitions or better blank first megabyte of that card using dd command under any linux live cd. Beware, dd could damage Your real HDD. Is disabledrivesafetycheck set for winuae? |

I've managed to add the CF card as a hard drive under WinUAE by selecting the controller as IDE0 (but the r/w is still ghosted) BUT, when I set up the partitions etc. in HDToolBox it won't let me save/write the configuration. Quote:
Thanks |

Thanks for that.
I also found this pdf which is quite useful because the pics show the orientation of the card and cable. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PZ5KV2QA |
