Alien Breed isn't very difficult to crack even though Mr. Antiaction/Boberg was full of himself regarding the protection.

I don't remember Project-X being very difficult, but I don't even remember creating a JST install of the classic/non-special edition version, so I may be wrong. AFAIR Project-X used RN copylock, which was not the toughest because crackers were beginning to know how to tackle it.

Yeah, that was kinda the joke. He went from his protection which he rated highly, bragged about Project X..........and it ended up being Copylock.x

And no it wasn't hard either.

Another problem is that when I do a really neat disk format, that, say,
gives you 6.5k a track and is well hard to copy, the *$#?**!ing duplicators
can't duplicate it! Kind of defeats the object really!

Hi Cracker ! I hope you will do a good job on this proggy since I cannot prevent you from cracking it anyway. But if you release a version needing two disks you will have to think about your skill. Bye, Level Four (yes we still exist)

The protection obviously included hidden code that would detect when you were AFK, determine your circadian rhythm, and cause your machine to burst into flame and burn your house down while you were asleep.

I'd like to see that lawsuit. "The Amiga is so flawed it can burst into flames! It burned my house down!"

"Actually, that's one of our core copy protection features, mr. pirate".

desert strike

Code:
Desrt Strike Is Brought to You From The Ea In House Possy Other Wise
Know As ProgStaff This Game Is Desined to be Unhackerble because There
isno need to hack it. If you whantto pirate it Just drag the workbentch
icon to another disk drive, and copy
Not for crackers, but there are also some file/memory fragments on disk (copperlist/load wrapper etc). Some of the comments:

Code:
I tend to put all my screen defintions in the copper its less code
and I can modify them with snasm eserly
Code:
FileFrendly load system comapaterble with current loading system
uses robnorhtens dosior.s
Ghosts'n'Goblins (broken sps-0031) also has a bunch of file/memory fragments (sprite update, main loop, c-monitor v2.02 etc)

Wolfchild used 'VFR 750' (sports bike of the time) as a decryption key, iirc.

Wolfchild had encryption? Other than the copylock I saw none.
