Big grin Steam Library - Game Within the Game

OK, so this probably doesn't affect most of you if not all of you but here I go with the scenario:

Since I collect so many games, I use the Chrome/Firefox addon named Augmented Steam (was Enhanced Steam) for checking out my current library and then sorting by lowest price and hiding games/apps that I already own.

This works great for the most part and is helpful even if you don't have a library of my size as you can do custom filtering too.

Well since I like to purchase games I don't care if they are not available in ENG and are only available in some other language like Simplified Chinese, Spanish, French, German etc...

You get that notification that this game is NOT available in your preferred language.

What makes this a game within a game is that the game name is in that language and trying to find it from the web browser side to the Steam Client side can be a real challenge.

Frequently the name of the dev/pub is also in that language so you have to sort by genre, which depending on the game can be many different categories.

However you can note the publication date and then view by one of the categories and then sort by release date.

This can still make things difficult as you are doing this in the Steam Client so you can hide already owned games/apps.

I don't purchase within the Web Browser unless they are Free/F2P games/apps.

So anybody come across this while searching for games to purchase ?

There are lot of under 1 dollar items @ GamersGate. Probably something you should look @ to get to magic 20k.

I wish there is an easy(er) way of comparing list to what you have on Steam.

It works great for items on Steam with Augmented Steam to compare prices to rest of sites, but not an option to show what you already have from catalog there.

Actually there is, I tag the games I own to HIGHLIGHT in BLUE and then I can turn off the filter of OWNED so I can see all the tagged own and WISHLISTED titles.

But it will not load the store from the other sites to compare it too so that maybe what you want with Augmented Steam

Yes, with over 2k titles it is already hard to know how many games from boundle, or in example link above, I already own.

I can just imagine how hard is with 14.5k.

Indeed, I end up looking at my Steam library and then searching on a site like Bundlestars and comparing that way.

How I end up purchasing any bundles now is to compare the items in the current bundle along with the pricing, then look at how many dupes there are and then find only the ones I don't already own.

I then look at the pricing for each of the missing items on Steam and add them up and divide by the amount of items to get an average price each.

If it works out which it does sometimes, then i purchase the bundle and then post the items here for others to grab.

It's really hit or miss for me due to the size of my current library of course
