Question So talk to me about ACER and Amiga

Without turning this into a shit fight about current licencing please.....

Can someone fill me in on how ACER fit into the AMIGA picture?

I only recently learned that ACER purchased Gateway, and thus the Amiga IP (or some of?) back in the day.

So do they STILL own any of it?

I know I'm late to the party and yes I've done my own searches but most led me to ACER builds of AROS. I found very little on their current ownership of anything related to Amiga.

I just find this interesting as my main Desktop is by chance, an ACER (because it was CHEAP )

Gateway sold Amiga several years before they were acquired by Acer.

So Acer never owned any Amiga IP, except certain patents which Gateway had retained, if they had not already lapsed by then.

Ah ok. Was confused by how they fitted in given where the IP is now.

Has seen several snippets that eluded to ACER holding IP they possibly didn't know what it was and what to do with it.

That's what happens when you find yourself reading old forum posts lol.
