Ultima V, for fixing
Hi
It seems that the classic RPG Ultima V : Warriors of Destiny (1989,Origin Systems) has texture corruption when loaded from whdload. The game works well when loaded from the floppy images, with very conservative WinUAE settings. The whdload was created ages ago by Dark Angel (and not Angel Dark ) apparently, so that might explain the bug. |

Sounds more like a WinUAE+WHDLoad issue, not a slave bug. I try this on my real miggy later.
Ultima V runs fine here on a real machine. Maybe a bit too fast running through the menues with and without caches. But i remember some graphic glitches in WinUAE from years ago. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 30 June 2008 at 02:32. |

It runs fine in WinUAE when booting from the floppy image, with 68000 CPU.
By fixing, I meant applying some kind of patch to run the whdload on 68040 CPU'd AmigaOS, if possible. |

Ultima V has a pc incompatible filename that causes the graphics to become corrupt when it's loaded.
If it's unzipped on the amiga side then it's fine. |

What can I say Belg, you saved my day, thanks !
By the way, what an enthralling "little" game this is. A gem of a RPG indeed, which pushes away all the Neverwinter Nights wanne be's out there. |

Readme of ultima V says that 'slave now fully pc-relative' (version 1.2)
But it was still bugged. Easy fix without de-packing the whdload package on an amiga..
I suppose that necromancering is ok here because bug still exists and I googled my way here trying to find out how to fix it. And fix was found. Hope this can help some another googler then :P |
