I know theres no code. Does the person who supplied you with the graphics not have access to the Atari ST version code?

it would be better to dump the coin op GFX and make an a1200 port.

Hang on, I'm confused. So was this game actually released on the ST or not?

After Playing and completing WEC Le Mans 24 Arcade Version. I have noticed the Sprite Graphics are almost identical. Apart from a few small details, such as Ocean drawn onto the Rear Spoiler of the Le Mans Vehicle Accident Sprites. LOL, as dlfrsilver stated "they used the coin op graphics..... cheaters !".
The graphics are definately straight rips. You would think one would go to the extent of touching the sprites up and making them at least a bit better than the Arcade Originals. Since, the original does lack a lot of colour, the Amiga 32 colour Simulataneous Pallette of 4096 colours available, could at least give you more vibrant colours than what are used here. Mind you the sprites were originally edited using an Atari ST 520ST (widely available at the time only had a pallette of 512, 16 colours used simulataneously. Late 1989 ST Enhance released containing full 4096 colour pallette. Game Development had sezied before this system was released). Also, I guess they would want to make it to as close to the original as possible. Why wasn't the development started on this game? Was there licensing issues? I guess they're questions to be answered in the AGTW. |

Chase HQ is much better on the Amstrad, WEC is nothing too special.
Anyway I looked at these images and the colours look wrong to me....an issue with loading in the IFFs into a PC package (not that I have EVER had an issue with this package before mind) Checked some arcade screenshots and there is no reason the Amiga couldn't do a nice rendition if you take into account the sky is a copperlist, 32 colours are more than enough. |
